Big Break - show three

Did anybody else have trouble seeing the first airing of last night's Big Break ?  All I had was a blank screen. (I have Comcast Southeast)  Had to watch the later broadcast, not that there was a surprise alternate ending or anything like that.

Taking up with Stu's newfound cynicism (just kidding, Stu) - what's with Sofie Sandolo and that scarf ?  They're in Hawaii.  Is she experimenting with ideas to "market" her "brand"...before she's actually accomplished anything other than a REALLY cool calendar ?  This age of agents and marketing companies is really getting on my nerves - too many players with no resume going out to market themselves before showing that they can perform.

How about the fear of bunkers ?  Only 2 of the ladies stepped in with any real confidence - Lori and Susan (though, IMHO, Lori's bravado sounds a bit contrived and rehearsed).  I'm impressed with Susan's nerve and short game skills.  She could be a lot better than she lets on.

The right people ....
... went home. Not necessarily the right people if you were ranking them from 1 to 11. But given the final two matchups - Liz vs. Sophie, Adrienne vs. Sam - the better two players emerged.

That's good. I still hate that anyone can win immunity (or lose it) based on one, single shot. My biggest problem with Big Break is that each season, they play less golf.

But I guess I shouldn't complain too much. It's just a gimmicky TV show, and a gimmicks go, well, I've seen worse.

the word of the day is...
"gimmicky" :-)

I was a little surprised that Liz said that she was "99 times" better than Sophie.  I guess she missed the years that Sandolo has spent on the LET, and even though she has no wins, she has played well enough to keep her card.

Both girls who lost said that they didn't expect their opponent to make their putts.  This was match play - you ALWAYS expect your opponent to make their next shot.  Guess they haven't watched enough Ryder Cup action. :-)

"this ball will fit in that fairway"

Gimmicky cricket!
And criminy and crikey too! I complete missed Liz's "99 times" comment. Wow. Talk about having no self-awareness. Confidence = good; delusion = bad.
