Woods Out a Month after Surgery

Tiger Woods had arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday on his left knee, getting some cartilage cleaned up. It's the same knee he had surgery on several years back.

"I made the decision to deal with the pain and schedule the surgery for after the Masters," Woods said. "The upside is that I have been through this process before and know how to handle it. I look forward to working through the rehabilitation process and getting back to action as quickly as I can."
So which tournaments will Woods miss? He usually plays The Wachovia Championship; that one is out. The Players Championship is four weeks away. That's the earliest Woods could return, although on his Web site the recovery timeframe is given as "4-6 weeks." That seems to put Woods' participation in The Players in doubt. Woods isn't a big fan of that golf course anyway.

If Woods can't make The Players, then The Memorial, starting May 29, looks to be the place of his return.
