give Tiger a challenge

as it stands, the Fed Ex Cup has been decided. it will pretty much take a miracle for anyone else to win the Cup and prize purse.

the post-season points reset has been adjusted after last season because there was almost no movement from week to week. players pretty much stayed where they were seeded.

this year, when they reset, the points will be closer together so fewer points will be needed to overtake another spot above.

HOWEVER - Tiger is so dominant right now, he is going to need some sort of challenge to keep him interested. He pretty much has the top seed sewed up (no pun intended) and we are only halfway through March.

What can be done ? Reset Tiger to 92,070 points (144th spot) for the post season ? Might at make the chase closer...on paper at least.

all that's needed

is for somebody, anybody, Bart Bryant even, to have one great week in the playoffs, or the Tour Championship even, and pull off the upset. Yeah, easier said than done. But Mickelson did it last year in the second playoff tournament ... and then like a dumbass took the next week off and was never in the mix at the Tour Championship. Well played Phil.

If Mickelnuts had played all three playoff events and added another top ten to his win, he MIGHT have only lost to Tiger by a couple of thousand points instead of the 6000 point differential he finished with in '07.

The '08 Tour Championship is going to be a lot better than '07. The greens are being preped for the new bermuda grass, so they will be fast and hard and ready to go.

#17 is going to look more like 18 at Sawgrass. The right side of the new fairway is now where the left side of the old fairway was, and the left side of the fairway now butts up against the lake. Guaranteed to putt a scare into some of these big hitters.
