... and Open Thread ...
PGA Tour
Jeff Quinney and Phil Mickelson battled each other throughout the final round, both being comfortably ahead of the pack. Quinney took a lead about midway through the round, but a few missed putts - and a few clutch putts from Lefty - allowed Mickelson to win the Northern Trust Open for the first time in his career. It is career win No. 33 for Mickelson.
European Tour
Felipe Aguilar of Chile trailed India's Jeev Milkha Singh by a stroke heading to the 18th. But after Aguilar birdied and Singh bogied, it was Aguilar who claimed the one-stroke victory at the Jakarta Astro Indonesia Open.
Champions Tour
Two wins in two weeks for Scott Hoch, who survived a four-man playoff to win the Ace Group Classic. Hoch birdied the final hole in regulation to get into the playoff, then birdied it again to win the playoff against Tom Kite, Brad Bryant and Tom Jenkins.
Nationwide Tour
With two days washed out by rain, the HSBC New Zealand PGA Championship was shortened to 36 holes. But a trophy is a trophy, and Darren Stiles is the player holding this tournament's trophy. Stiles started Sunday's second and final round tied for the lead, and birdied five of the first six holes. The he held off the charging David Small for a 1-stroke victory.
