I Guess They Meant It
The LPGA, that is, about cracking down more on slow play in 2008. Angela Park, on the leaderboard, on the back nine, in the final round, was assessed a 2-stroke penalty at the SBS Open for slow play. Despite that, Angela is still just a stroke off the lead as I write this (she's through 14, leader Annika Sorenstam through 12).
It's guaranteed that in a similar circumstance on the PGA Tour - one of the leaders, back nine, final day - no penalty would have been assessed.
Rest assured that every other player on the LPGA Tour will be taking notice of this.
On another note: Dottie Pepper in the booth. Beth Daniel walking the course. I wonder if those two talked about puppies this week ...
