Mickelson's Debut Questionable
There may not be quite as much excitement at the Buick this week as I'd originally hoped. Because what I was hoping for was a Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson battle.
But now Mickelson's participation - or his health, if he does play - is in doubt. Phil has been ordered to bed for two days by a doctor because of a "respiratory problem."
That could mean anything, and wouldn't be too concerning except for this:
Mickelson has suffered from heavy congestion, shortness of breath and fatigue since October.
A Gaylord Sports spokesman said it was not clear whether his condition was caused by working in the smoky debris on his property in San Diego County following wildfires last fall, or by an illness he developed in Singapore in November. Mickelson won in China the following week, but his agency said he has not felt his best since then.
His condition worsened Monday morning, and doctors advised rest.

avian flu?
did you all catch the Japan Probe post a few weeks ago that summarized a newspaper article that reported that PM Abe stepped down b/c of the ulcerative colitis that started on his visits to S and SE Asia? if not--google it. it may be one of those "truth is stranger than fiction" things.
