And If You Thought "Chokin' Freakin' Dogs" Was Bad ...

A couple days ago I wrote about how the Solheim Cup got very serious, very fast, thanks, in large part, to some poor etiquette by Dottie Pepper. Later, I pointed out, one of the European captains hurled insults at a few of the American players.

And the day before this Solheim Cup began, Laura Davies informed the world that the American team was comprised of 11 "nice girls" and one who wasn't so nice.

I just stumbled across a comment made by European captain Helen Alfredsson that puts Pepper's "chokin' freakin' dogs" comment of earlier today to shame. The comment was not made during the Solheim Cup or the run-up to it, and as far as I can determine is probably a couple years old.

Alfredsson was once asked to comment about Cristie Kerr's physical transformation (Kerr dropped 50-70 pounds, changed her hairstyle, ditched glasses, and changed from frumpy and dumpy to glamorous). Alfredsson replied:

"She used to be a fat bitch, and now she's a skinny bitch."

My goodness.

I think we can make a guess about the identity of Davies' mystery player. (Kerr was a good guess all along - while she's made more friends in recent years, at one time she was easily the most disliked player on the LPGA Tour among her peers.)

re: comment by mulligan stu
Some players didn't (and I guess still don't) like Cristie Kerr because they said she was brash and a brat, etc.  The only reasons I have ever heard for this is she came out making statements like --I'm going to be the #1 American, etc.  We hear that from Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressel and other rookies all the time.  The only difference is that when Cristie turned pro she was alone, and it was easy for some players to shun her.  All these new players have come on the scene together.  Without them, there is not much of an LPGA!
As far as I'm concerned, Laura Davies and Helen Alfredson did nothing but make themselves appear juvenile and petty.  Grow up ladies!
