Michelle Wie's Caddie Quits
Just what Michelle Wie needs: Her dad back on the bag.
Buried at the bottom of a column in the Toronto Star is this tidbit:
This week her father, who's built a reputation as a second-guesser of the succession of caddies Wie has hired and fired, will again be carrying her clubs. Approached yesterday, B.J. Wie declined comment.
"I'll be quiet," he said. "I'd better not talk, as her caddie."
David Clark is the caddie in question. He'd worked for Wie since the beginning of this year, after the Wie camp fired his predecessor Greg Johnson (who had been Juli Inkster's longtime caddie and now totes Brittany Lincicome's bag).
Clark wasn't fired but rather quit in order to pick up the bag for PGA Tour golfer Greg Owen.
It's easy to come up with two guesses why Clark ditched Wie:
- B.J. Wie
- Bo Wie
It's a shame, Wie and Clark seemed to have a good rapport.
