C'mon, Get Happy, with the "TigerTEEni"

sunny d - tigerteeni Would you like to enjoy a martini made with what is allegedly Tiger Woods' favorite beverage?

Of course you would! And while you're enjoying it, you can start planning the purchase of your new Buick, which you'll pay for with your American Express card, and whose passenger seat will be filled with a Swedish nanny. Check your Tag Heuer watch, my friends, it's time to get your "A" game on.

The golf getaway gurus over at Golf Vacation Insider hit on this a few days ago:

... To help sell hotel rooms during Fourth of July weekend -- when Tiger Woods' first-ever, co-sponsored PGA Tour event (the AT&T National) comes to Congressional Country Club -- the Fairmont Washington D.C. has created an entirely new cocktail, a Tiger Woods martini.

It's part of the Fairmont's "Under Par on the Fourth" package, which, as far as I can tell, includes nothing more than a hotel room, a discount on an Enterprise rental car, and the cocktail for $229 per night plus tax. If you want there to be any golf in this golf vacation package, you'll have to set it up yourself.

Calling it an "abomination of mixology," GVI reports the drink combines vodka with ... SunnyD. Yes, the orange drink from Sunny Delight.

Why SunnyD? The Fairmont claims SunnyD is Tiger Woods' favorite drink. And they are calling their concoction a "TigerTEEni" (rather than a Tigertini) because, as part of the "Under Par on the Fourth" package, the TigerTEEni "is served with a golf tee on the side."

Well, isn't that special.

Shaken or stirred? Hey, it's an orange martini. Does it matter? (But isn't orange juice and vodka just a screwdriver? OK, this is orange drink and vodka ...)

I would like to know, though, if SunnyD really is Tiger's favorite drink. I always pictured him as a Grape Nehi kinda guy.

TigerTEEni
I'm big into mixology but I had never heard of an Arnold Palmer till last week.  Maybe cause there's no alcohol in it (iced tea and lemonade on the rocks). I was also introduced to another alcohol-less drink called the Tiger Woods (iced tea and cranberry juice, rocks).  The TigerTEEni sounds like an improvement, I'd go real light on the Sunny D though.

I'm a ...
teetotalar, so I know nothing about mixology. But I have looked into Arnold Palmers before. The tea/lemonade mix is the original, and Arnie's favorite drink. But that original recipe got spiked somewhere along the way, and now you see many Arnold Palmer recipes calling for equal parts vodka, tea and lemonade.
