"Slice," the Golf Horror Flick: Terror is Par for the Course!
The scariest things I've ever seen on a golf course are a 5-putt and the restrooms at my local muny. And I still have nightmares about those.
But there's something scarier coming to your neighborhood links. It's "Slice," the golf horror movie:
I love it! And if you love it - and have some money you're looking to invest - the producers want to talk to you. More on that in a minute.
First, the synopsis for this flick (and doesn't the idea of golf horror movie really make you miss the drive-in?):
Woody Hole was built in the midst of a forgotten and seemingly innocuous cemetery. Disturbed during renovation, the ground unleashes something dark and deadly. Stimulated by the rambunctious partyers nearby, more creatures venture forth with increased vigor. The golfers find themselves surrounded and cut off from their cars - cell phones useless due to the remoteness of the course. The friends panic and scramble into the woods. Their only chance of survival is mired in their ability to forget their differences of the past, join forces and fight to ensure their future. But they are lost, separated and bloodied. What chance do they have?
Just as things look their darkest, a mysterious stranger enters the fight. THE GROUNDSKEEPER, once a promising professional golfer, is now a misunderstood loner. The unexplained disappearance of his son has left him heartbroken and alone. A man with nothing to lose, he fortifies the group. As the reality of the situation and his child's horrifying fate become all too apparent, he rises to the challenge and acts out his own rage-induced revenge.
I'm not sure why there's a character named "Fast," and I don't trust that Groundskeeper (he's inhaled a lot of golf-course chemicals). But I have seen enough horror movies to know this: never build a golf course on top of a cemetery! C'mon! That's, like, Golf Course Design 101!
So, want to invest in a movie? The producers are looking for investors to get their movie shot. They have the script, they've filled the secondary acting roles (the main roles will wait to be cast until financing is arranged), they know where they'll be shooting, how much it will cost, and all the other particulars. Visit the Investors page on the "Slice" Web site for info.
And I would say to keep your eye on the Web site for details, but you don't want to end up like this guy:

There are more "Slice" posters/graphics below the fold, so continue ... if you dare ...
