When Michelle Wie injured her wrist in a fall last month, word was she would be out 4-6 weeks minimum. The first chance for her to return was the Kraft Nabisco Championship the last week of March.

Now, it appears there's a chance Wie will be back a week earlier than that. According to the Arizona Republic, before injuring her wrist Wie had accepted a sponsor's invitation to play the LPGA Safeway International the week prior to the Kraft Nabisco.

And, the paper reports, Wie isn't yet prepared to give that exemption up. She has asked tournament organizers to hold off for now on offering her spot to another player, hoping that she will be able to make it.
