Sam Alexis Woods Baptized in Sweden
The blog You Been Blinded headlines a post this morning, "Why did Tiger Woods miss his daughter's baptism?"
Blinded points out that while Woods was in Anaheim over the weekend at a fund-raiser for the Tiger Woods Learning Center, Elin had Sam in Sweden for her baptism.
HelloMagazine.com reports that the baptism took place in a Stockholm gymnasium, rather than a church, because of privacy concerns.
They were joined by the rest of the Nordegren family on Sunday for the special occasion. Elin's dad Thomas, a radio journalist, arrived with the same baptismal bowl that had been used for Elin and Josefin, while their mother Barbro Holmberg - a former government minister - was in charge of bringing the pink baptism gown.
Hello also points out Tiger's absence. But I think I know why Woods wasn't there - he is, according to all references to the subject that I can find, a Buddhist.
There is no baptism in Buddhism. So I don't think anyone needs to struggle to make a big deal about this. In an interfaith marriage, one party or the other is usually making allowances when it comes to raising the children. Baptism was apparently important to Elin and her side of the family, not important to Tiger, so Elin took Sam to Sweden to be baptized in front of her family while Tiger tended to his educational foundation.
No big deal.
The bigger news to come out of this is that Elin is a twin. Just ... imagine ... the ... wow ... um, what? Sorry, I drifted off for a moment.

Didn't think of that...
Good thing they did the ceremony in Sweden - imagine all the do gooders here in the US who would condemn the insensitive man for not caring about his first born child !!
psst - Stu - TELL us you're kidding that you didn't know that Elin is a twin...a twin swimwear model...and a twin from the Parnevik nanny squad.
