Distaster at The Masters? Maybe Averted
Headline on the news story: "First 2 rounds of Masters moving from USA to ESPN."
My immediate reaction: no ... No ... FOR THE LOVE OF GOD .... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Chris Berman doing The Masters? IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
That bloviating bovine blowhard ruins several hours of U.S. Open coverage every year - and now he's going to do The Masters? Oh, the humanity ...
But then, I spied those last few words of the article, the most important words I'll read today:
Mike Tirico will host the ESPN telecasts.
Whew.
(I wouldn't be surprised if word leaks out that Augusta National insisted Berman not be a part of the broadcast.)

Just because...
Berman may be a blowhard, but unless he starts coming up with nicknames for Augusta National members, he probably won't be barred from being on air. Berman is annoying, but he has managed to refrain from "body bag" and "sex wax" descriptions connected to The Masters.
That said...what in the WORLD is Billy Payne thinking allowing ESPN inside the gates ? ESPN is ABC, not CBS. Must be something going on.
