From the LPGA to the JLPGA
It took some digging and help from the Full Metal Archivist, but I've finally figured out JLPGA Q-School. The tour is pretty closed-mouth about releasing field lists in advance of their 4 stages of qualifying tournaments, but earlier this month they did reveal the names of some of the LPGA players who will be playing in the penultimate and final stages in a press release to the Japanese media. Click to find out who wants to join Ai Miyazato, Momoko Ueda, and Shiho Oyama with dual LPGA-JLPGA membership in 2010!
Flash Forward to the 2016 Olympics
The LPGA's Global Stretch Run
Got a suggestion for the LPGA's David Higdon and whoever the new commissioner turns out to be up over at Mostly Harmless. It fits right in with whatever buzz is generated by the President's Cup.
Ranking the LPGA's Young Guns
Hey Wagglers! With Hound Dog "stepping away" from the whole LPGA blogging thing (cue Ahnold voiceover: "he'll be bahhhck!"), I'll be subjecting you every so often to links to Mostly Harmless that may be of interest to some of y'all. This one is my attempt to assess the careers-to-date of the best players in the LPGA rookie classes of 2006-2008 who have joined the Million Dollar Club in career winnings (or are about to). A few really good players haven't played enough LPGA events to make the list--I'm talking mostly about Momoko Ueda and Amy Yang--but it covers the top 21 as of now in my book. Enjoy.
State Farm to Continue as LPGA Tournament Sponsor
This is some great news. The tournament's purse will not decrease also.
Cirque du Soleil in SPAAAAaaaaacccee
Nope - absolutely nothing to do with golf - just a very cool story.
Guy Laliberte, one of the founders of Cirque du Soleil, bought a ticket on the latest Russian rocket to the space station and will be spending 9 days with 8 other astro and cosmo nauts.
The price tag ? A measly $35 million...but Laliberte is worth well over a billion dollars, so he won't be sleeping in a Motel 6 anytime soon...unless he just happens to buy one while travelling.
If you're a poker fan and get the Game Show Network, you might recognize Laliberte from the fourth season of High Stakes Poker. The million dollar minimum buy in season.
This is one guy I would really like to meet some day. He seems to truly love the Cirque (he started off as a fire eater and stilt walker), and doesn't mind putting his money in places where people really need it.

Jeff Rude interviews Ken Green
This is an excellent read. I hadn't heard anything about Ken Green since a few weeks after the RV accident that took part of his right leg, his brother's life, and his girlfriend's life.
I have a feeling that he's going to find a way to get back on Tour.

Tour Championship Twittering
For those of you in the Twitter world, The Tour Championship has already started their Tweets. Even the executive director of The Tour Championship, Todd Rhinehart, will be chipping in to do some of the tweets as time permits.
As you can guess, he is pretty busy paying off the local weather forecasters to get some better weather in town before Thursday. :-)
