LPGA Commish Mike Whan Turns Caddie
Mike Whan loops on the Duramed FUTURES Tour for Lili Alvarez.
"I feel very honored for him to join me in the first round on Friday and I hope he sees the need for more LPGA Tour cards [awarded at the end of the season]," said Alvarez.
Tiger to Return at 2010 Masters
The headline says it all. TW will be back to professional golf at the Masters and not a second before then. No Tavistock Cup or Arnold Palmer Invitational, just a place with azaleas and green jackets. Oh, and a controlled atmosphere.

Sal Johnson on Laura Davies and the LPGA Hall of Fame
He makes the case for her induction. It is very much worth reading and I may touch on it tomorrow in a separate post.

T-Joh racking up sky miles in the early season
The Duramed season is just about to start, and Tiffany Joh will be trying to earn her way onto the LPGA Tour through the money list. She did, however, get a sponsor's exemption into the Kia Classic in San Diego - which is the week after the first DFT tournament.
Check out this travel schedule from her web site...
"Seriously, though, are you going to fly to FL for the DFT season-opener the week before?"
"yep fly out monday, play that week, fly back to sd play the kia classic, fly back to fl, play the daytona event, fly back to sd, drive car to texas…just living the dream!"

Y.E. Yang on Korean Soccer
Yang states, "cohesion and chemistry throughout Korean football history have always been over-par." I'm confused as to whether "over-par" is a good thing or a bad thing in this instance.

Tiger Text app for iPhones
Ok - you all know that I am not happy with the way Tiger Woods' dirty laundry was fluffed, folded, and put on public display over the last few months - but the one part of the story that makes me shake my head was the text messages he left on his phone where the wife would find them. That's just downright dumb.
SO - iPhone apps to the rescue...a little late...but Tiger's goof is going to turn into a pretty decent cash cow for AT&T and whoever designed this new app that will delete texts after a designated amount of time. Gone...like they never existed.

Daly's PGA Tour discipline file becomes public record
Garry Smits of the Jacksonville Times Union has a story today on John Daly's PGA Tour file. The PGA Tour usually keeps these behavior / fine records private, but he was involved in a court case in Jacksonville and the records were subpoena'd and have become part of public record.
Before you start thinking that this is just a hit piece designed to take more shots at Daly - Smits does a very good job pointing out the patience and support given to Daly from the Tour, and their desire to keep him around.
Daly's file is more than 250 pages long spanning his career that started in the 80's.

Mahan Wins With Ping Eye 2 Wedge, Sort Of
I thought this was a pretty interesting twist on the Ping Eye 2 wedge controversy.
According to the article, and discussion on Golf Channel during play on Saturday, Mahan just likes the look and feel of these wedges - so he had the grooves modified so they would conform to the new rule.
You have to like a guy who is willing to go that far to help the Tour during a tough patch, AND his game at the same time.

David Feherty becomes a US citizen
...meaning that when next we see him on air he'll be a little more full of himself then he usually is, but in a good way for a change.

Crocodile lurks on Australian golf course
He is named Steve too.
Crocodiles or alligators living in waters off a golf course are quite common here in Florida. One even got on television during the 1982 Tournament Players Championship.
