Aces are wild at LPGA Thailand
A day after Paula Creamer carded her first hole-in-one as a member of the LPGA Tour, Karrie Webb matched her feat with an ace on the same hole during the same LPGA Thailand event. Webb used a 6-iron from 159 yards on the par-3 12th hole at Siam Country Club's Old Course to can her fifth career hole-in-one and take a provisional two-shot lead in the tourney’s rain-delayed second round.
"I didn’t get to see it today but I hit exactly the shot I wanted," Webb told reporters about her ace after finishing her day on the 14th hole. She was 10-under for the tournament, two shots clear of Jiyai Shin, the leader in the clubhouse after firing a 6-under 66, and Amy Yang, whose day ended on the 14th as well.

Webb will begin her third round four shots clear of Yani Tseng. After expressing disappointment with her opening-round play, the world No. 1 fired a 7-under 65 to get right back into contention. Tseng may not yet own an ace on the course but she drained a putt for an eagle-3 on the par-5 18th after slamming her 207-yard second shot to within eight feet of the hole.
Officials suspended play at 2 p.m. for almost 90 minutes due to lightning in the area and then called it quits for the day at 5:15 p.m. Second-round play was scheduled to continue at 7:30 a.m. Saturday.
Creamer, by the way was in the house at 1-over for the tourney. Tour rookie Lexi Thompson was one back of Creamer, while Michelle Wie followed an opening-round 75 with a 68 and was at 1-under for the week.
