Rory Climbs to #2 in the OWGR, Tiger and Snedeker Climb Too...
Despite not being able to climb past Robert Rock in Dubai yesterday in the final round of the European Tour's Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, the new Official World Golf Rankings have Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods inching closer to #1 ranked Luke Donald.
McIlroy is now #2 in the world, passing Lee Westwood after his second place finish.
Woods, who tied for third at Abu Dhabi and jumps from 25th to No. 17.
As for Robert Rock, yesterday's winner, he too saw a boost as he jumped from #117 to 55.
Meanwhile, Brandt Snedeker outlasted Kyle Stanley in a playoff after Stanley lost a seven shot lead by making a snowman on the final hole in the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open and as a result is now #15, up from #25.

Stanley lost a 7 shot lead to Snedeker – he slept on a 5 shot lead from the 3rd round.
Tiger jumping from outside the top 50 with a win in an 18 player field and a T3 still seems strange. I get the jump from 55 to 25 with the win, but jumping around inside the top 25 with a T3 finish ?

Rory looked solid for the most part this week.
Congrats for reaching #2

Lost by a shot…Friday’s brain fart rules violation (sweeping sand from in front of the ball on the fringe) added two shots. Ouch.
Luke Donald is off to a slightly better start than last year – he missed the cut in his first event last year. Gonna be an interesting 2012, eh ?
