Forget Tony Romo; Tiger Woods may team with Tim Tebow at Pebble
It seems to be all-Tim-Tebow-all-the-time in the world of golf. Tebow has already left Tony Romo in his wake, as the Denver Broncos QB has a playoff win in the bag while the Dallas Cowboys flinger is watching the action from his recliner at home. Now, word comes from Global Golf Post’s Brian Hewitt that Romo may be out as Tiger Woods’ celebrity partner at the upcoming AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
Organizers will likely invite Tebow to the event and if he accepts, they -- and TV -- would love it if he played alongside Woods. That would once again leave Romo -- rumored to be Woods’ partner after the golfer said he would make his first start in the tourney since 2002 -- on the sidelines as Tebow Mania hits hyper-drive.

As Hewitt noted, Tebow -- America’s newly anointed favorite athlete -- could play at Pebble even if he were to take his team to the Super Bowl. The NFL championship game is February 5, with the contest at Pebble Beach a week later.
But, while the suits at CBS -- which will air Saturday night’s AFC divisional playoff game and the AT&T contest -- would like nothing more than to see Tebow make mincemeat of New England's NFL-worst defense, that may be getting a bit ahead of things. The Pats' high-flying Tom Brady -- a pretty good golfer in his own right -- might have something to say about the expiration date for Tebow Time.
Tebow, by the way, seems to know his way around a golf course. His biceps wowed the crowd during the pro-am portion of the PGA Tour's 2011 FedEx St. Jude Classic, and his second annual Tim Tebow Foundation Celebrity Golf Classic is bound to attract even more A-listers this year after his break-out season on the gridiron. The former Florida Gator also flew the green with his drive on the 339-yard par-4 first hole before last year’s Honda Classic, according to the Sun Sentinel, which noted that Tebow’s shot traveled some 350 yards.

The fact that Tebow is a Nike athlete and Romo endorses Starter is another possible reason for a switch.
