Quail Hollow.Haas leads and Rory stumbles

Local boy Bill Haas leads after the first day at Quail Hollow,striking 8 birdies with no bogeys on his way to a 64-very impressive! Rorys defence looks shaky after posting a three over par 75 trailing Haas by 11 shots.His putting still looked a little suspect even after engaging the services of Dick Stockton.
Martin Kaymerhad an inconsistent 70 and sits one behind Sergio and Padraig.Sergio started this week at no 72 in the world and needs to leap 22 places in the next few weeks to avoid having to qualify for the US Open at Congressional.He hasnt missed a major since making his debut at Carnoustie in 1999.So come on Sergio win this thing!!! Early days and its anyones but maybe not Rory's...........although remember last year........nah he couldnt do that again...........could he??????

Excellent tournament so far. No complaints from me. Weather a little tough and chilly this morning. Short stoppage in play, but it’s turned into a decent day. Hey how about Jihn Sendon on fire.
