Lexi Thompson makes 2011 LPGA debut at Avnet LPGA Classic

"Alexis Thompson made her first start of the 2011 golf season at this week’s Avnet LPGA Classic in Mobile, Ala. Playing on a sponsor’s exemption, the long-hitting 16-year-old teed  it up with Kraft Nabisco Champ Stacy Lewis, top-ranked Yani Tseng, Michelle Wie, and a star-studded field of 144 golfers that included the top 10/9 players in the world."

Lexi after the first round was a more than respectable 1 under, while Lewis had a fine 4 under round of 68. Yani had a shocker and posted a miserable, by her standards, 5 over 77. One should remember however, that she is still only a kitten.

"Tseng, however, may have something to say about the outcome. A win for the four-time 2011 winner would give her the career grand slam - but only if she wins the US Open next month! She became the youngest player in LPGA history to win three majors when she clubbed/finessed her way to the 2008 LPGA Championship, 2010 Kraft Nabisco, and 2010 Women’s British Open".

She will also need to go very low tomorrow to make the cut, but please do remember, she's just a kitten.

Wendy darlin...got a call this AM...early AM from my brother.

He was laughing,,,nay, he was cackling and the static was fierce….He said they were in the tail end of a good storm….Seas were running about 18-20 ft. and wind about 30 mph….they were running on the desel and still making 7-8 knots….They trimmed all sheets about 9pm just when the rough weather came in…lasted 6 hrs. He said he had put on foul weather gear, and straped himself in at the helm…wanted to see how the boat took it….he said the righting motion was great, and just a slow wollow in the troughs….He said they were a bit ahead of schedule on the Wine, and Tea so I guess that’s good….He also said that all systems were functioning great….

You have to understand my brothers humor…kind of dark….but he said that at my age I would appreciate the Postuer Pedic mattresses whilst making love at my age…..HA!..They had caught some kind of fish, and he said one of the guys baked it in the oven and it was the best seafood he had ever had….Weighed about 10 lbs or so, so one whole flllett is in the freezer…Still didn’t know when they’d make port….Guess they’re having a good time…They have all sailed and raced together for years, so should all get along well….STUB

Not surprised about the winds, STUB

although I assumed they would be favourable rather than against as they’re coming from the NE to us. Glad she’s proving to be everything promised. Please be advised that I may be prepared to play golf in most adverse conditions, but I am most definitely a fair-weather sailor. Should you make it back over to IOW, I don’t want my martini shaken or stirred, except by my own fair hand. The mattress is TMI, thank you. Let us know when they get to Miami?

Maybe Maxfli is more popular in Wales and Louisiana than Texas!!!……..:0)
Pricewise huge difference between Maxfli and Titleist Prov’s……….probably why I find so many of them!.

Last summer someone gave me a box of the new Maxfli’s. I am a Titleist player , but i got to tell ya, I really liked the feel of the maxfli’s. A good ball performance wise for the price. good feel on the greens to.

Most top balls are fine.

The pro v’s do stand out, but I’d never buy them at 55 dollars a dozen.

HEY...get a grip you two....You didn't ask what it WAS...

you asked what it was CALLED if you had it had home…I gave you a correct answer…Tit for Tat I calls it….They sure is good and they don’t make them anywhere in the USof A like they do in Nawlins…STUB

STUB

by thinker on May 3, 2011 1:23 PM EDT up reply actions

Ho Ho!

“when it’s at home” is just an expression, indicating that one hasn’t the faintest idea of the meaning. I did not ask what it was CALLED if you had it at home. Do get with the vernacular ;o

Your brother certainly sounds as though he is enjoying himself.
I assume he intends to stay out until all the wine is finished.

by WendyUK on May 3, 2011 1:50 PM EDT up reply actions

OH no you don't...no wiggling out of this one...

You Asked “What’s a Muffaletta at home”…my reply was “It’s still a Muffaletta”….Don’t go hanging all that ret-a-rik stuff out there to try and confuse the issue…

Just an expression? Where? maybe in the UK, but not in the USofA…Please be more explicit when asking a question…Local vernacular do not apply…It’s only good on home turf, not world wide…so there to…

If he stays out until Hell freezes over, I’m still going to bop him on the nose…The wine has to give out sometime…that alone will have him making land fall….I guess they should be here in the next day or two, but as I’m in NY until the 6th, still won’t get to see her until after then….

I’m going to be careful as to how I communicate with you….I understand from our FBI that M15 and Interpol are interested in you, Easy and Scrums…What the heck did you guys do this time?…..STUB

STUB

by thinker on May 3, 2011 2:40 PM EDT up reply actions

I understand from our Foreign Office

that you are the common denominator – apparently you have been soliciting bets – is that legal in USofA? What else is on that boat of yours, I wonder?

Look, Dafto, why would I think a Muffaletta made at home would have a different name to a commercially made one?

by WendyUK on May 3, 2011 4:12 PM EDT up reply actions

Who Me ? Soliciting Bets? Why would I do

that ?…If your refering to that date you and Easy have hatched up, it Was Scrums who said he would accept any and all bets….He even said he would hold the money, so how does that involve me.? I would do no such thing, as if your going to gamble here in the USofA, you have to purchase a Gamblers Tax Stamp…

What is this statement…wonder what’s on the boat?…I haven’t seen or been on it, so how woud I know…Are you trying to confuse the issues here?

And name calling seems to be evidence of how neurotic you’ve gotten over this….For shame, For shame….Who knows what or how your mental abilities become impared when into the Red early on….Jeeech !…STUB

STUB

by thinker on May 3, 2011 4:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Hah!

Back at ya! Mr. Scrums agreed to hold the bets (under duress from you) but is an absolutely respectable person. Unlike you.

Natch you wouldn’t be ON the boat – doesn’t mean you’re not responsible for what she brings in. Just saying……

Mr Scrums...If you google it, you can see

the whole receipe….I think the bread they bake themselves has a lot to do with it too…But the combination of flavors is out standing, with a cold one of course…Say Mr Scrums…do you sense that Ol Wendy has been at the Sherry a bit early?….STUB

Stub,sherry conjures up visions of........

old ladies at Xmas time drinking a few glasses before dinner, after they’ve poured half a bottle into the trifle already!! Gotta tell you I dont see Wendy like that.More of the bottle of red/gin and tonic kind of girl………If I ever go to New Orleans I’ll try a Muffaletta with a cold bottle of Jax :0)

Speaking of getting swept out with the trash....

My first time to Nola, we went to Big Daddy’s on Bourbon St. at some point in the early morning they asked everyone to go out side while they had a shift change, where they proceeded to “hose” out the interior. After about 30 minutes they reopened and we went back inside. Truly, the city that never sleeps.

when we stopped by Central Grocery on the way to the Airport!
Can you still do that these days? Bring your own food on board? Or would TSA have to inspect the Muffaletta?:)

Much cheaper than Pro V’s and just as good.

I switched from Srixon

to TaylorMade last year and prefer them. Depends upon the player or it may be all in the mind?

by WendyUK on Apr 30, 2011 2:05 PM EDT up reply actions

A bit of both, I'd say

it depends on your game. I like a good feel on the short game, it doesn’t matter too much when driving. I don’t like the rocks like Donnay and the old Pinnicle hard balls. Putting with those for me feels like crazy golf !
