New Zealand Top Pro Golfer Extorted by Mistress for Affair Secrets

David Smail is one of the more well known golfers in New Zealand. He's also apparently a man that was involved in an extramarital affair with a young Japanese woman. When Smail tried to cut off the tryst, the woman threatened bodily harm to Smail, herself, and carry out other threats.

As a result, much like Tiger Woods, Smail and his wife came forward to the press together to share their story.

This week, the mistress - 27-year-old Sato Kurihara - blasted the media with intimate photos of her and Smail in an attempt to validate her claims. She says she has up to 2000 more photos. Smail objects to that claim, but has taken his affair story out in front of her threats.

The affair lasted an indeterminate amount of time, but Smail told the Waikato Times that it ended three weeks ago.

Smail's wife of 25 years, Sharee, is going to stand by her man.

"Like I said to Dave, if you love someone so much, you can't just stop loving them straight away, you just can't.

"It's weird, but I've seen other people and seen things happen to them and I always think how can they, but I just love him so much and I know our kids do too ... and that's not going to change and I don't want it to change.

''He's the same person, it's not the end of the world, he hasn't murdered anyone, that's the main thing.''
