PGA Tour Suspends Pro-Am DQ Regulation for Remainder of 2010
As part of the brushback from the Jim Furyk DQ last Wednesday at The Barclays, the PGA Tour has opted to suspend its rule leading to a disqualification for a missed tee time in a pro-am. This rule will be suspended for the rest of the 2010 season, with a review to follow.
In a statement, the PGA Tour said, "Hereafter, should a player be late for his pro-am starting time, the situation will be handled as a matter of unbecoming conduct. Such player will be required to participate in the remainder of the pro-am round and may be required to perform additional sponsor activity.
"A player who misses his pro-am obligation in its entirety will still be ruled ineligible for the tournament unless he has been excused in accordance with the provisions of the regulations."

So.....
Does this mean that Furyk’s DQ won’t count against him for POY consideration? Are they going to give him those FedEx Cup points back?

C&P.....I agree.....seems unfair, but at least it won't happen again.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
Maybe – but he has an extra week’s worth of rest and is still inside the top 10. A decent finish this week and next, or a strong finish one of those weeks will probably put him back in the top 5, which is where you want to be heading to Atlanta. If you’re in the top 5 and win at East Lake, you win the FEC.
