Finally, Wells Fargo Slaps Name on Charlotte Event
During the week in May in which the Quail Hollow Championship was played, the anonymity and lack of flaunted presence of anonymous title sponsor Wells Fargo - who purchased toxic Wachovia in 2008 - was a considerable topic. If Wells Fargo was stuck with a contract that it intended to honor through 2014, why would they not apply their name to the event?
Wells, Fargo must've reconsidered. Starting next year, the Quail Hollow Championship will rename itself with the true title sponsor and be known as the Wells Fargo Championship.
"With the Wachovia conversions on the East Coast scheduled for the next 18 months, we believe the time is right to bring the Wells Fargo name to this tournament," said David Carroll, head of the Wealth, Brokerage and Retirement divisions for Wells Fargo & Company.
Again, it's Wells Fargo's investment, so they can approach how they reap benefits from it as they choose. And this event is going away after 2014 anyhow. So, it's a change - a good one - but one that ultimately matters little.

Awesome Wells.
Wells, Fargo must’ve reconsidered.
That was quite clever, Ryan.
Guess the heat and hate are off the banks
So it is okay to go back into the water.
They have our money, its well spent on executive bonuses and the like, and we’ve moved on to the oil spill, to blaming the government for everything that’s wrong with the world and worrying about a recession.
Soooooooooo, the execs at Wells Fargo and the rest of the banks can poke their heads out of the proverbial rabbit hole.
