Bunker/Not A Bunker, Volume 1
Welcome to Bunker/Not A Bunker - the new weekly feature here at Waggle Room which will test your skills at identifying bunkers in the real world. Some will be bunkers. Some won't be bunkers. None will need a local rules sheet to distinguish them.
Here's this week's picture.
It is a bunker or not a bunker? The answer after the jump.
It IS a bunker. This is the tee shot from the third hole at Sugarloaf Mountain, the maligned Crenshaw team design that has fallen into disrepair. Carts must travel over this bunker area - if you hit it that short, leave the course - to a blind landing area below.
Of course, please send us your photos for Bunker/Not A Bunker!

Looks pretty well packed down sand. The wheel marks aren’t aren’t deep, so it doesn’t look difficult to hit from.
Not a waste area, eh ? I was going to take the cop out answer – it’s a bunker if the golf course says it’s a bunker…so don’t ground your club…and if it’s a waste area, go ahead and ground that club.

“You don’t have to worry about the conditions of the bunkers if you don’t hit into ’em.”
Nice guy. He really was, because he said that with a huge smile on his face.
Nice guy and all…but why am I picturing you turning around with a big grin on your face to say “smart-arse” to him after that comment ? (lol)

Yep, and then I made him buy me a drink.

Perhaps they have Camels rather than golf carts at Sugerloaf Mountain.
