Tiger Woods & Elin Nordegren Announce Their Divorce
In a statement posted on Tiger Woods' website, he has announced the dissolution of his marriage to Elin Nordegren.
McGuireWoods LLP, counsel for Elin Nordegren and Sasser, Cestero and Sasser P.A., counsel for Tiger Woods, make the following announcement:
Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods confirmed today that they have divorced. Judgment was entered today in Bay County (Florida) Circuit Court dissolving the marriage. The Judgment provides for shared parenting of their two children.
Ms. Nordegren and Mr. Woods issued this joint statement:
We are sad that our marriage is over and we wish each other the very best for the future. While we are no longer married, we are the parents of two wonderful children and their happiness has been, and will always be, of paramount importance to both of us. Once we came to the decision that our marriage was at an end, the primary focus of our amicable discussions has been to ensure their future well-being. The weeks and months ahead will not be easy for them as we adjust to a new family situation, which is why our privacy must be a principal concern.
Ms. Nordegren was represented by McGuireWoods attorneys Richard Cullen and Dennis I. Belcher in Richmond, Scott S. Cairns in Jacksonville and Walter H. White, Jr., and Josefin Lonnborg in London, assisted by Rebecca Palmer of Lowndes, Drosdick, Doster, Kantor & Reed, P.A. Thomas J. Sasser of the West Palm Beach, Florida firm of Sasser, Cestero and Sasser P.A., and Peter T. Mott of the Southport, Connecticut firm of Brody Wilkinson, P.C., Mr. Woods' long time general counsel, represented Mr. Woods.
Elin's sister Josefin did indeed hold a place on her representation team, as Waggle Room and Trailing Tiger previously reported.
Waggle Room is seeking the documents from Bay County Court.

I love the last paragraph in the quote. It reads like a wedding announcement or obituary in the paper. (lol)
What possible purpose is there for Waggle Room to want the court documents ? As always – this is none of our business.

Oh, quit playing it so coy, Court.....
we all know you will dump Win and go after Elin……..:)

“this is none of our business” statements that are used ad nausum

Tiger made it our business by sharing publicly after calling it a “private matter” for months.

What does that mean ? Sharing what publicly ? An announcement ?
I have to admit, RB, you’re getting very good at flipping that two headed quarter that came with the decoder ring and secret handshake when you joined the GWAA.
The guy is badgered for months on the subject. He gave one answer – that’s between Elin and me. Now, in an effort to end the badgering, he announces that they are divorced – so NATURALLY, you decide that it’s your business to know what is in the settlement, and if you don’t get the answers you want, the badgering will start again.
Sorry, RB – I don’t share this twisted vendetta against the rich and famous. Everything about their lives are not our business. What Tiger does on the golf course is of interest. If we’re lucky, Elin will do some more swimsuit modelling. Definitely of interest.
His divorce settlement – not of interest and none of our business.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Court.....you've been wrong on this from the start....
it has nothing to do with being or not being any of “our” business. Tiger is out in the public and makes his living in the public eye. He has manufactured an image that was supposed to be the squeaky clean hero of the masses, and as we all know he was nothing near that image. We all were lied to and now we want our pound of flesh…..so we will continue to watch, listen, read, and comment on anything Tiger…..and whether it is our business or not, is meaningless.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
nonsense – just because someone earns a living in the public eye does not mean that every detail of that life is anybody’s business but his own.
And your point is well made – modern society is definitely populated by the Dumb-Masses.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
There you go again.......living in la la land.....
Nobody on this blog has ever said that “every detail of that life is anybody’s business”. Tiger and his team have for years orchestrated every detail of what they want to be the “business” of the public, and we all bought it, hook, line and sinker (that’s a fishing analogy)…..and it was a lie. Now all of a sudden nothing is our business, he wants his privacy…..well it aint gonna happen. As for the “dumb masses”, I’ll have to rely on your expertise there.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
Oooo – nice dodge. sorry – I’m not in the masses that just can’t live without taking shots at Woods. I don’t care how much money he makes. I don’t care how what he is giving Elin and the kids. I don’t care where he will live. I don’t care who he socializes with. I don’t care what he drives or flies or sails.
You can call my ability to mind my own business “living in la-la land” if you want – but it doesn’t change the fact that none of this is our business. Just because the media understands that large numbers of people will always pay to find out about the fall of a celebrity and get all the juicy tidibits doesn’t make it right or good.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Talk about dodge!!!
First…..your first paragraph applies to no one on this blog. Nobody here cares about any of the things you mention.
Second….You didn’t answer my question.
Third….no where did I say that your “ability” to mind your own business puts you in la la land. You live in la la land because of your inability to understand that this has nothing to do with being anyone’s business, but more about an item in the news that we all have a choice to, or not to, comment on. Simple as that.
So, your “none of our business” stand has grown stale, very stale.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
I’m sorry – I didn’t know I had to deal only with people in this blog. My bad…is that a DQ or 2 shot penalty for not knowing that rule ?
What question ? There isn’t a question in either of your posts…but I do have to say that “and whether it is our business or not, is meaningless” is a pretty scary statement.
It’s not news – it’s low rent gossip that will be used as fodder for tabloids. How’s that ?
Sorry if you’re bored with “it’s none of our business” – but you seem to be in need of a lot of reminders. Karma’s a real bitch – I hope you never do anything that would embarrass you publicly.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Oh yeah???
Well there was supposed to be a question in there…..:)
“It’s not news”……hmmmm, this will be on every news outlet in the country, maybe the world and you have decided it’s not news…..bold.
Not bored, just tired of the “attitude” of the none of our business line….
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
Very well said court
This is indeed none of our business! He’s divorced, no big surprise there and that’s where the story should end. The details shouldn’t matter to anybody but his now ex wife and children. Unfortunately in this country a “tabloid mentality” exists the demands every dirty detail be spilled every which way. Em66, you sill want your pound of flesh? Really? After the better part of a year, you still don’t have it…lol. Time to move on folks, this is getting ridiculous.

So court
I sell Nike Products in 4 of my stores, should what goes on with him not be my business as he is suppose to be the BIG DRAW of the product ?
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
You have the ability to pull Nike gear from your stores
You can even sue Nike for false advertising like a company has sued Tiki Barber for portraying himself as a family man in their ads while cheating on his wife with an intern (although I doubt you would get far; the Nike ads basically said ‘used these clubs and you can play like Tiger’ not ‘use these clubs and you won’t cheat on your wife with the waitress from Perkins’).
What you do not have the right to do is get every personal detail of Tiger’s family life. It may fall into your lap, but you have no rights to it.
Good comments 2nuse
I always respect your opinion even though we dont always agree, then again the world would be a very boring place is everyone agreed on everything.
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Jumpn
then why do you sell the stuff? Why not take the moral high ground and remove if from your store?

Tigerhead always good to see you.
Contracts my man, Contracts. It ends this year and we have liquidated much of our stock andwon’t be renewing. The future will be one to show and by order only for purchase. For the past 6 years it has been the most costly wholesale and has the lowest profit margins. Overpriced at retail if ya ask me. Taylormade, Ping, Titlest and Callaway have been our top sellers.
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Just a couple of observations – Tiger may be the biggest name on the Nike roster, but he’s not the only one. (personally, I still want the big Grace Park end poster) :-) Second – Tiger doesn’t make the clubs – he barely uses Nike manufactured clubs. His irons are hand ground in Tennessee, and his woods are specially made. Bridgestone makes the Nike golf balls. All of this mess he has made of his life doesn’t affect how Nike equipment plays in the least. (the TW wedges are top notch) The only thing putting someone’s name on a product does is to draw attention so people will give it a try. Somehow I doubt that people are thinking that if they use Nike clubs, their marriage will break up. :-)
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
It still stinks Court
It is # 8 in sales of all brands we sell, cost the most wholesale and is the least profitable, TW or not.
I think the Mizuno line is a better quality product, “off the shelf” than NIKE.
JMHO
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
There is a difference between what the public wants...
and what it deserves. We may want our pound of flesh for being ‘lied to’ but we don’t deserve it.
Two.....what difference does it make??
Who said we deserve it???…..
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
The difference is the public has no moral standing to know what goes on behind anyone's closed doors
Sure we want to know. The National Enquirer and magazines of that ilk have made their fortunes on that fact. In Tiger’s case in particular (and celebrities in general), we are not the injured party.
Even if you totally buy the argument that the public bought into Tiger’s carefully orchestrated public persona, exactly where is the harm to the public finding out that persona is a lie?
so you’re saying that people have no ability to choose better things to be concerned about ? That the tabloids are as good as it gets ?
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
We have the ability
Some of the public doesn’t care of Tiger Woods, or Lindsay Lohan, or Jesse James. Some do. My statement has little to do who does or doesn’t care. What I am saying is when the public believes information on the private lives of celebrities is their birthright, the public is wrong.
I can invite you into my home every day for a week, it doesn’t mean you have access to my home the 8th day if I choose not to invite you.
Many have said it
Perhaps not in that exact wording, but I can’t count how many times, (including this very blog) posters have laid out this b.s about him “being a pubic figure makes it our business”. Simple, don’t buy his products, (most of you don’t anyway) and turn the channel if you want when he’s playing. But none of us have any right, or in any way “deserve” to know private details beyond what he’s stated. End of story. I understand this “tabloid mentality” isn’t going to stop, but that doesn’t mean it’s right or justified. Enough is enough.

none of us have any right, or in any way "deserve" to know private details beyond what he’s stated ?
He stated on live TV "AFTER HE GOT CAUGHT " That all the rumors about his infidelity were" False". His words not mine. He made it public, not the public making it their business. The rest is history.
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"

to me that’s simply a justification. That’s pretty much how the human brain works, we can justify nearly any behavior and we’re generally very good at it. This is the premise of how tabloids make their living. It’s a private matter and if he makes the choice to keep it to himself then that’s just the way it is. Perhaps some need to go back a read the Bill of Rights. I for one don’t remember anything in there that voids a citizen’s rights for being a public figure, but maybe it’s just me….
Fight for your opinions, but do not believe that they contain the whole truth, or the only truth.
Charles A. Dana
T.....And just how is anyone voiding his rights???
You guys gotta get over this hyper-sensitive routine. Ryan posts a couple of things that every new source in the country is reporting and Court starts whining “it’s none of our business”. No one has said a single negative thing about Tiger and here we go….every one is picking on Tiger. You guys are the ones that need to get over it.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
Jumpn......something is
really weird when you have to defend something that is not being attacked……..go figure.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
Simple actually
Your demand for the “pound of flesh” and the ongoing diatribe that never dies. This insistence that because Tiger is a public figure he owes you all something. Yes, it gets old from my view, very old. I believe you made the comment “whether it’s our business or not is meaningless”. I of course disagree with that statement, and would again point to the Bill of Rights. Now, perhaps this is just me whinning..lol and perhaps I do need to “get over it” but the point remains. And clearly it’s not just me and court who need to get over it by the way.
Fight for your opinions, but do not believe that they contain the whole truth, or the only truth.
Charles A. Dana
T.....Bill of Rights????
Is that the same document that preserves my Freedom of Speech??? I’m not sure what you’re referring to…..as there is nothing mentioned about committing adultery…..I may have slept through that class. Maybe your wrath should be reserved for your boy, as he brought this on himself.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
Not sure why I need to spell this out but..
from the context of Tiger’s right’s. You and Jumpn seem to be contending those rules don’t apply to a wealthy public figure. Freedom of speech, sure thing, you can use it to complain for 9 months why Tiger isn’t telling you everything and how he owes it to you. And I’ll use it to tell you I think you’re dead wrong. Clear enough? I hope you finally do get your pound of flesh so you can somehow repair the great harm Tiger has done to you….lol
Fight for your opinions, but do not believe that they contain the whole truth, or the only truth.
Charles A. Dana
What rules don't apply to Tiger.....go ahead and
spell it out….I guess I’m a little tired tonight, but for the life of me, I don’t get how my or Jumpn’s opinion of Tiger somehow suggests that we don’t think the rules apply to him….enlighten us. By the way, it was Tiger who said that he thought the rules didn’t apply to him and he could do anything he wanted. As for the pound of flesh….heck, you’ve got me wanting 5 pounds now……lol. Why do you think Tiger has caused me “great harm”?? He’s done nothing to me. I don’t like him, I don’t like Mark Mcgwire, Mike Tyson, Michael Vick, Nick Saban, Kobe…….so shoot me.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
This is exhausting
and pointless. Five pounds it is then, enjoy yourself. Time for bed.

I never asked
For a pound of anything. I only comment on articles that are placed in front of me, giving an opinion. I comment on most articles and not just the TW ones.
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
And jumpn
I never said you did, that was em66. My frustration lies with those that seemingly have this belief they are entitled to know everything about another citizen’s private life. You and em seem to think Tiger has gotten away with something. He’s paying the price guys, he lost his wife, his reputation, and millions of dollars. And yes he did deserve all of that. But I just think it’s way past time to let this go, it’s over now.
Fight for your opinions, but do not believe that they contain the whole truth, or the only truth.

Sure it's our business...We been making it
our business since the windows got bashed out…What I want to know know now, is “how many suits does it take to screw a Tiger” ? Well lawdy honey Chile, as many as ya can gets at the table.. Have you counted her suits, compared to his ??…Ya gotta love it, Tiger gettin screwed for the screwing he got. And now, cause he went through the Sex Addiction classes and all, the poor guy is probably off women for life….HAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!!….STUB
I'm not altogether interested in Tiger's divorce
But I don’t think the solution is as simple as saying “don’t report on it”. There’s a very good reason stuff like this is allowed to be vetted in public.
So should we be privy to simply all criminal violations, but nothing regarding marriages/children? Who determines the line of what should and shouldn’t be disclosed when our public services are being used?
Thing is, I’m more upset about Tiger’s little driving incident in November than his “duh” divorce. But both are matters of public record.
So I guess I’m in the pro- “if it’s in the public record, let the ‘press’ vigorously report it” camp. And if it doesn’t interest me, I’ll exercise my right to ignore it accordingly.
Otis......I'm not sure, but
we don’t usually allow comments here that actually make sense…..:) Well Said!

Now wait a minute, Em. One of yours made sense a few weeks ago. It doesn't
make sense now, but it did then.
Probably a gross error on my part.....
does that make sense????
