PGA Tournament Pick 5 Contest: Now With Prizes!
OK gang, here is your chance to enter again for a opportunity to win a dozen golf balls of your choice. There was no winner in last month's Open Championship contest, but I did award a "consolation" prize to member Wendy_UK.
She has been sent a half dozen new SRIXON yellow balls and a few other golf related goodies.
This week's rules are real simple.
- Choose your top 5 players
- Two of those players MUST finish in the top 5
- In the event of a tie, I will give the award to the one that either has 3 players that finished top 5 or I will put the names of the people entered in a Judge Smails hat and randomly pick a winner.
- If nobody picks 2 players that finish in the top 5 I will award a consolation prize to whomever has just one player in the top-5 that finishes the highest ranked for the week.
- If there is a tie with the consolation prize will i will randomly draw for the winner amongst all those that qualify.
- Entries must be submitted on this Fan Post no later than 2:00 AM EST Thursday.
Good Luck to Everyone!!!
Love, jumpn/progolf

I loved that you picked Matt Kuchar…he’s a favorite of mine. :-) And Stricker is my #1 favorite!
I write about golf at www.tees2greens.com, too.
He's taken some time to get there
but I think Matt is now on the cusp of great things. My list does not necessarily reflect my favourites.
Groaner alert:
It would be a Kuchar Kuchar coup if he wins.
BTW
RYAN, I saw ya sneak that “LOVE” thing in to my posting when you re-titled it and put it front and center. I got some love for ya, his name is Monty hahaha
Thanks for posting this up front.

SHOOT!
Court, you picked Stricker?? Now he’s doomed…can I beg you to remove him so that he has a chance to win this week?? :-) I have been waiting all year for this week, I just know Stricks is going to get his first major at Whistling Straits.
I write about golf at www.tees2greens.com, too.
lol – I’ve been puttin Stricker up on this list for a couple of weeks now – can’t pull the rug out from under him now….that would be almost like Wendy abandoning Cink. :-D

I'm busy that day, Eas.
But feel free to pay me the shillings you would’ve lost.
Hoping “shillings” still exist over there,
TXQ
Like some of your jokes..
they are history :) As for beating me…I’m one competitive git. Still, better to be busy than lose :)
Nearly made my 4th ace at the 1st hole today, TXQ
in front of a most appreciative audience (2"). Pity the rest of the round was complete and utter rubbish – littered with double bogeys – but they didn’t see that ’cos we left them miles behind.
Great shot.......good for you....(you did make the putt, right????)
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
OOOH - Cruel!
It’s the short approach shots wot did me in. Pitching wedge/9 iron – I hate them to pieces. Doing better on the little chips just off the green though.
"hate them to pieces"....that could be your problem.....
kinda like my driver. Those clubs should be your best clubs……you just need some confidence.
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
Some advice - just between us, em?
I play the same way every round – & expect different results each time!
I can’t reach most par 4s in two except with a following wind. I play driver & 3 wood ’cos I love them; that leaves me with that shi….y little shot to the green. Alternative play?
Just play courses with temp greens. They're shorter.
Next question?
Well , leave it to TXQ to get between us.....lol
It could be almost anything….but I would bet you are decelerating on that shot. You don’t have to swing hard, but a nice smooth swing that helps you accelerate through the ball could help. What exactly is happening…..between us….:)
The Saints ARE the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS....WHO DAT!
Decelerating yes
I end up by sort of chopping rather than chipping,
or big ball before little ball – ONLY on these shots though.
Seriously, Wendy, I suggest staying away from
the game for a couple of weeks, then quit it entirely.
Easing is obviously on his way down south
……. and bringing the rain with him. Means he’ll have to spend all his time in the pub, poor thing ;o)
Holy Samoly...don't
tell us you lost all 6 already? STUB
Why...what fun would that be
couldn’t get near the reactions I do now…..STUB
Hmmm...
Tough choices, but here goes.
1. Steve Stricker
2. Rory McIlroy
3. Justin Rose
4. Ross Fisher
5. Dustin Johnson
I like the Dustin Johnson idea – he played so well at Pebble until he got nervous on Sunday.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Yeah, plus I figure his distance will be an asset there. looks like a long, tough layout. Of course, if he gets into trouble off the tee…
by Double Eagle on Aug 11, 2010 3:56 PM EDT up reply actions
Well step aside ya sheep...here comes the winners..

I have no earthly idea, but here goes.....
1. Mahan

3. Rose
4. Casey
5. Overton
Based on the current trend, it’ll probably be a player nobody is thinking of or expects to win.
Fight for your opinions, but do not believe that they contain the whole truth, or the only truth.
Charles A. Dana
My first post here
1. Hunter Mahan
2. Paul Casey
3. Jeff Overton
4. Justin Rose
5. Phil Mickelson

Thick as Pea Soup fog
This morning at Whistling Straits. One of my high maintenance clients has called me every 15 minutes for the last 2 hours asking me when things are gonna clear up for the start. LOL If he calls me too many more times I might pull a nutty like the flight attendant on Jet Blue did earlier this week. Weather man I am not.
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Hey Jump....go ahead, do it
and we’ll (Court that is) see if we can’t get you some free TV time…he,he,he…..STUB
Just to Be Clear
You lead, PG, reads: OK gang, here is your chance to enter again for a opportunity to win a dozen golf balls of your choice.
Good. If I win I choose the dozen balls you already mailed to Wendy. Just have her send them to me.
Thanks.
Nice interpretation, TXQ
Almost worth you winning to send you a sleeve of girlie golf balls with pink ribbons on them. Will consult Heather re “other golf paraphernalia” to send you. Time she got her own back.
Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Never mind, Wendy.
They’re yours to keep.
No worries Wendy
If TXQ wins, I will send him some of those expoding golf balls
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Dang it
I know it’s only the first day, but I was soooo close to putting Bubba Watson on my list. Of course, I almost put Tiger Woods on there too, figuring he’s gotta snap out of it some time.
Ross Fisher, why hath you forsaken me?!
Ain't looking good for me...
Padraig Harrington T116
Hunter Mahan T78
Rory McIlroy T24
Martin Kaymer T48
Ian Poulter T48

Harrington crossed my mind
But last I heard, he was tinkering with his swing this year, so that’s instant elimination for consideration for me since he hasn’t regained form yet. Especially since he missed the cut at two out of three majors and at The Players this year.

Man, GC's John Hawkins needs to take a course
on how to read from a monitor. He butchers every other sentence.
one step at a time...
…he’s still getting used to not dressing like Craig Stadler and having his hair combed.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Noh looks like a real contender here.
Good for him. His Noh Wear line of golf apparel never sold too well. Poor marketing.
OK EM...who ya want me
to send the crew after this time….The fee is the same, for broken legs, arms, smashed noses. bit off ears and other assorted goodies…..STUB
Well, out goes
Harrington, Fisher, Yang, Barnes, O’Hair, & Rose. All still in it with a shout, chaps!
Best line from Ewen Murray tonight
remarking on an errant shot from TW – “That’s nearer Canada than USA”!
Whew
I thought Dustin Johnson’s terrible break cost me, but he hung in the top 5.
Now, if I only had picked Bubba Watson instead of Ross Fisher like I was so close to doing….
Looks to me like we have a WINNER
“Old Man Par” for picking winner Kaymer and Mcllroy. " Congrats"
I’m a little tired at the moment from my week in Kohler, Wisconsin so `someone double check. OMP e mail me your address, mine is available by clicking on my ugly mug —>
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
gawd I'm tired
OMP e mail me your name , address and zip code.
Also, what Brand and type of Golf Balls you want.
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Way to go OMP !
that’s some mighty fine pickin’ and a grinnin’ :-)
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
I had a feeling about Kaymer
That guy has some real game and McIlroy was kind of a no brainer.
I feel horrible for Dustin Johnson, of course and almost as badly for Nick Watney. Johnson’s story will be talked about for years, but I feel too for Watney’s obvious mental trainwreck the whole day.
