Paula Creamer Successfully Battling Thumb at Oakmont
Paula Creamer has barely gotten going in her second round at the US Women's Open, but even that small amount of golf action is hurting her surgically repaired thumb. Creamer said entering the championship that she is not yet at 100%
As one might guess and was confirmed to Waggle Room, Creamer underwent thumb treatment after the first round yesterday and after her media appearances during today's rain delay. She is having her thumb essentially "worked out" almost like how a chiropractor would with a patient's back.
It will take some time to come back fully from a surgery like that. Anthony Kim could relate.
Perhaps tomorrow's softer conditions in the resumption of round two could help Creamer throughout the round. She has 16 holes left in that round. Play resumes promptly at 7:30 tomorrow morning.

STUB, I sincerely you consider authoring a book. You've met and been friends with lots
of big names in various sports, right? You’ve no doubt got a slew of interesting/funny stories to full a fun book or two.
Of course, I also sincerely suggest you send it to a copy editor first.
A man on omission...
Add “suggest” above after “sincerely.”
Funny you would suggest such a thing...
Actually, at one time I did contemplate such an under taking….How ever on the advise of my long suffering wife and my over paid Attorney, who each suggested that I give it second thoughts, as if a story was told, and a name, even if thinly disguised was recognized, I wouldn’t have enough hours in the day defending the law suits that would surly follow….In addition, it would have infringed most assuredly on my cocktail hours and that of course would never do…..jist sayin…..STUB
maybe softer is bad, too
She was taking big divots at Locus Hill, which has soft fairways (made softer by rains), which couldn’t be good for her thumb, either.

I don’t know if there is a winning situation with the thumb. I would guess ground with some give, but not too much is best. We might have that now at Oakmont.
