Back to the Futures: Happy Independence Day!
I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th - I know I did! Got home from Kentucky late Saturday night and slept in a bit yesterday morning, for once. My parents and I sat on our deck for breakfast on Sunday. What a beautiful morning it was.
I put my bathing suit on and headed to my friend's house to go out on the boat for the day. It was perfect timing for me, I really needed a day to just relax and have some fun with good people.
I am getting ready to go on a five week stretch of playing six tournaments. Yep, six tournaments in five weeks. I'm playing in Canada at the beginning of next week, which is just a two day event so I can still get to my regular Futures stop in time for the start. Going to be a long trip, but I've been in a little funk and the best way to get out of that is to play through it. Things are really improving in so many ways with my game, now I just need to get the scores to show it.
Before I go to Canada, I am stopping at Oakmont to watch some friends play in the U.S. Women's Open. I'll be there part of Thursday and all day Friday. I'm disappointed to not be playing, but sometimes you can learn a lot by just watching. Very excited to see the course since I have heard nothing but the best about it. I'll try to get some good pictures as well!

Well Steph...glad to see you haven't fallen off
the face of the earth…We were starting to get a tad worried on that one….Glad your 4th was relaxing and your ready to go….As for the scores, remember 2 things….Putts that don’t get to the whole, never go in,….and …It ain’t how, it’s how many….one shot at a time…You promised to enlighten us as to how the girls survive out there…It sure isn’t the prize money, unless your in the top 5 every week…give us a inside look at staying afloat out there….keep on grinding…..STUB
I’m working on that piece now…..and there is not really “staying afloat”. I wait tables during off weeks and am lucky to have parents that believe in me. It’s an emotional topic for me, since I do struggle financially even with the help of some family and friends. But that is part of the sacrifice of chasing your dream.

Have to admire that kind of drive ! When you get into your piece, can you toss out an idea of how much it costs to get through a season on the DFT ? I know the tournaments try to help when they can with room and board, but a lot of the girls at the Atlanta tournament chose hotels and restaurants to housing, so they had to have some good results or good backing.

Steph, I enjoyed the opportunity to meet and chat briefly with you at the Mason, Ohio tournament last month. Thanks for explaining the wind-blown interview, I still think Ryan could have done better. I expect to watch you playing on television next year!
