She did well in amateur tournaments andi in college – but again – not what TV audiences mostly in Europe are going to recognize. Not that it wouldn’t be good for her to get the experience, but she doesn’t drive interest like Thompson.

Song will be getting sponsors exemptions into regular LPGA events, but she said she’s going to concentrate on getting one of the 5 cards from the DFT so she doesn’t have to go through Q-school.

I wrote about all that last month. BUT, Evian tournament organizers know their golf and Song is one of the few in history to be the Amateur and WAPL champion in the same year, plus she has a legitimate chance to win while Thompson will just be there for the experience.
