Sarah Brown & Futures Tour Settle for Undisclosed Package

On Sarah Brown's Geocities-ish website today, there was a new post indicating that Brown and her father/caddy Keith had reached a settlement with the Futures Tour concerning compensation for the erroneous DQ of Sarah at last weekend's tournament.

The post on the site says that there is a confidentiality agreement in place, so details of the settlement won't be shared.  If it involves a boost on the money list by some amount, though, it seems like that would be pretty obvious when it is done.  It does seem that perhaps Brown got a free trip into Q-school out of the deal, as Sean Martin has noted her website now features Q-school on her fall/winter schedule.

Brown tees off at 2:00pm ET in the Futures Tour event in Syracuse today.  Keith Brown told Golfweek that the agreement was reached yesterday afternoon.

And, for what it's worth, I will volunteer my web design services to the Browns to fix the website.  She deserves better, particularly after this.

Branigan means nothing to me

but husband is John Wayne fanatic. Heaven knows how many times I’ve watched every single one of his films. But I still like to attempt John Wayne drawl of “Get on your horse and drink your milk”. Just makes me laugh.

A joke aimed at me a few times...

not because I walk bow legged ( I don’t ) because of the American twang I picked up from my spell over there. Still makes me laugh too :)

lol – I don’t remember that line – but Branigan is a terrific movie – he’s an American policeman hunting a criminal in England. GREAT scene at the end with the bad guy in a Jaguar XJ-E (still one of my favorite cars of all time)

Wendy...not until he took the lady of the film

into his arms and gave her a big ol JW smooch…..STUB

Sarah Brown would probably do herself a lot of good if she fired Caddy Daddy. He’s poisoned the well insofar as his relationship with the DFT, I would think.

NO NO...keep him on the bag..

she gets DQ’d (and that ain’t Dairy Queen folks) and he sues….ya gotta love it….The only ones who should feel like schmucks are the one’s who complained and accused in the first place…See how fast things can get done….it’s only the Politicians who have to sit around, debate for months…I always thought to justify their existence, but hey, I could be wrong here….I think it’s great….and ya, the whole story will come out sooner rather than later….STUB

Didn't I read somewhere

that the (large) family are pretty skint & they need Sarah to earn a living for them? Can’t afford to hire another caddy when Daddy comes free(ish)!

by WendyUK on Jul 30, 2010 12:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Not likely – she’s a middling pro on the DFT – pretty hard to support the family on less than $3000 over four months.

I didn't mean she can keep the family

I just read somewhere that that’s what Daddy would like her to do since he lost his job.
Might be wrong though.

by WendyUK on Jul 30, 2010 2:12 PM EDT up reply actions

OH !! So now she can’t keep her family, eh ? Now that’s heartless and cruel !! :-D

Has to be some family cash somewhere – she’s not making any money on the DFT, and Dad’s not looking for a job if he’s travelling with her. She’s not going to be making LPGA money anytime soon to support a famly.

I think I need to look up some facts

before I tease you about the welfare cheques they’re probably on! ;0)

Lol

don’t re-open that can of worms…court and I have just had a few rounds and made up ! ( I did buy the 6th though :) )

Wendy....no welfare checks...

they are just 2.00 over the eligible limit….Those funds are reserved for all the Illegal Mess-a-kins weuns got ….but the good thing is, we is shippin most of um up North to Diane so she can take care of um, and give up her G.I. benefits, cause now only the illegals can get them….Oh, and she better not get sick, cause the emergency room is full a them an their kids….they have to bring the kids to interpret for um, as most a the adults can’t speak or unnerstan English…At least it will keep a lot of folk busy for a while, cause everthin has to be in English and Spanish too….Yea, dial 1 for English, 2 for anythin else….ya gotta love it….STUB

STUB - you're a father

if you were in a no-hope country where would you go/what would you do to save your children from starvation? I’d risk being an illegal immigrant to US/UK. Our countries are so wealthy they are obviously a magnet for the poverty stricken. We’re a small planet.

by WendyUK on Jul 31, 2010 5:53 PM EDT up reply actions

You sure make a lot of assumptions, Wendy. Mexico is a corrupt waste of a country, but it is hardly poor. Tourism, oil, tequila, and of course marijuana are healthy businesses. They do not even pretend to take care of their own there. They are brutal towards illegals in that country – yet you dare to point fingers at the US ? You have no clue what kind of people cross that border – especially the criminal element. There are Mexican gangs spreading like wildfire across the country, but if anything is done to curb it, they cry “racism” and all the efforts to put an end to their spread are stopped. This country will eat itself from the inside as long as the corrupt and criminal are allowed to protect themselves – and the liberal element is dumb enough to let them roam free. The people in this country who make things work have become the bad guys.

You're paranoid Court

I made no mention of Mexico – nor pointed any fingers. Simply a statement that the poorest people in the world will risk being illegal immigrants (and death) to try to get to countries like US/UK to avoid starvation.

As an aside – what on earth makes you believe that I haven’t a clue about criminal elements crossing borders? Believe me, I would have no hesitation in chucking out our Eastern European/Somali, etc, drug warlords, prostitution gangs, million-pound benefit fraudsters, from UK back to their own countries. They would face persecution in those countries if returned so it breaches their human rights? Tough. Out you go.

I just don’t feel vindictive towards our illegal economic immigrants because I understand why they do it and would do so myself in their position. Wouldn’t you?

by WendyUK on Aug 1, 2010 11:56 AM EDT up reply actions

Wendy..

of course Court would, in that situation. Might have a hard time getting him to admit that though !

by Easingwold on Aug 1, 2010 2:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Let’s see – we were talking about Mexico and illegal aliens – you brought in the emotional element with the father and starving kids (which you can’t prove – not that there aren’t cases like that). You don’t have to mention the country by name.

I said you don’t know what we have over here. You have denied, in the past, that you have this same kind of trouble over there…which I know isn’t true from my own trip to Scotland where I heard people talking about eastern Europeans migrating illegally to the UK.

The problem is that our governments don’t force these people to do thing the right way. Instead, they make life tougher for the citizens…and more expensive.

Sorry Wendy – I don’t see you breaking the law like that.

by courtgolf on Aug 1, 2010 4:16 PM EDT up reply actions

Definely paranoid Court

WE were not talking about Mexico – it just happened to be that’s the country on YOUR mind. I have never denied that there are social problems where there are heavy concentrations of (legal) immigrants. I just don’t share your hatred towards them.

Break the law – to save my family? – in a heartbeat!

Thank heavens I’m not faced with that choice.

by WendyUK on Aug 1, 2010 4:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Now you assume “hatred” ? That reaction right there encapsulates the liberals in this country. Instead of looking at things in the light of right and wrong – you jumped right to emotion and lost sight of the problem.

Sorry – still not buying it – I think you have more character than to break laws that would put your family in danger. Say what you want – but I get the feeling that you would come up with something more creative AND legal.
