Makin' It Rain for an Ace at the Greenbrier Classic

You might call it bribery, but I call it genius.  Jim Justice will personally pay you if someone makes a hole in one at the closing par 3 on the Old White Course at the Greenbrier this weekend.

If a pro makes an ace at the last, they will get $250,000.  The charities supported by the tournament get $750,000.  And everyone in stands at 18 when the shot is holed get $100, which I would promptly put on black in the Casino Club.

In the crazy - though not too crazy - event that a second or third hole in one happens on the same day, then the fans get $500 and $1000 respectively for each additional ace.  If there are four aces in one round at the 18th, then the world will explode.

If you didn;’t know about the Cold War relic that is the former Congressional bunker at Greenbrier Resort, it is an interesting story and fascinating tour.

Yep, when you’re done golfing and have mastered falconry that afternoon, you can wile away the hours in their casino.

I think they got it opened as part of their plan to stay solvent. Greenbrier was close to broke when the new owners bought em.

I knew it was in foreclosure – just didn’t know casino gambling was legal up there. Sounds almost James Bond-ish !
