56? That's Awfully Low, Even for a Nationwide Tour Pro-Am
Pro-ams are typically screw around events for the pros. They're in it to entertain, network a little, and show off their skills. Putting up a low individual score is not usually a part of the equation.
In Columbus, Ohio, Sean Martin shares an exemption to the rule. Trevor Murphy - 51st on the N'Wide Tour money list and who almost withdrew from the pro-am - fired a 56 that he says was all pure.
Murphy, who started on the course’s fifth hole, hit all 18 greens in regulation. After struggling to recall all his birdies, he said, "I was in la-la land. That’s half the reason I shot that."
He had one eagle, 12 birdies and five pars. Murphy’s three pro-am partners only contributed two strokes to the team score, but the team still won by five shots with a 54.
Yeah, they better win! Holy smokes.

That's certainly impressive, but Heather Jones (of RWG)
shot a 76 today!
