Paula, I Do Believe the USGA Was Nice to You After All
Before the US Women's Open officially began, eventual champion Paula Creamer sent out a tweet to her followers - and the USGA - about the course.
Wow this is an unbelievable golf course! Should be interesting. Please be nice USGA!
I think they were plenty nice in the end. They did let you take home that trophy they gave you for winning.

That vuvu that you do so well.
Off-topic, for sure, but one thought I wanna share with you folks re the World Cup finals.
I felt that the rhythm and bass vuvuzela players performed well, just like in rehearsal, no doubt, but the lead vuvuzela player was a little off, no?
out of tune
The lead vuvuzela player was a little off yesterday, destroying the rhythm of the Vuvu Orchestra. Apparently, he forgot to tune his special red one he had been saving for Soccer City.
Seriously, if you listened to many of the games in 5.1 surround, there were wave-like cascades of the vuvus throughout. I liked the things, they added a really unique character to the contest and after a while I didn’t notice them so much.
EPL starts in a month. Which of the Big 4 is going to win is anyone’s guess, but my money’s on Man U.

Don't know whether they found some way
to mute the sound or whether I simply became accustomed to the noise. The play-off for 3rd place was more exciting than the final I thought, although I’m pleased Spain won (for Spanish friends). ANYONE but Man U. pls.
Still no mention of LPGA in my sports pages.
Man U is not my first choice, but they look to have reloaded nicely over the offseason. I am sure that Chelsea will have much to say about that, but we’ll see in about a month when this year’s drama begins.
Also, FWIW, UEFA qualifying starts very soon.

Sadly, true.
I’ve always like the Liverpudlian side, they caught my fancy watching them over the years in the sparse coverage of EPL we get here stateside. (Thank god for justin.tv!)
Since Liverpool FC is already operated by its bank, I fear the worst for them, because without a high place finish they get lower TV revenues and of course miss out on Champions’ League qualification too. That doesn’t sound like the road back to redemption.
Even though it is so much larger than the NHL here in America, the finance issues of the EPL are very similar to what happened with them. Ultimately, that league had to cancel a season, institute a tight salary cap and fight hard to get itself on solid ground. It took about four years, but this year was the first time in forever that the NHL got decent ratings and vastly increased fan interest. I fear if Liverpool FC can struggle mightily, it may not be long for other teams to do the same. Who knows, it could end up being the late 1980s all over again if these matters are not handled well.

Poor old Portsmouth went bankrupt too
After England’s dismal performances, there’s quite a call for salary sacrifices from some of the players. Haven’t attended a match in years – too expensive. May I persuade you to come over to Arsenal, OMP?
Sorry Wendy....OMP is stickin
with who brung um, and it ain’t Arsenal…..If Portsmouth was going into the toilet, why didn’t you and the hubby buy the thing on credit and turn them around ?…Maybe the whole league is in disarray because Beckham left….took his money and run he did, the blighter….Blimy….STUB
OMP's money may be on Man U.
but he didn’t say it was his first choice. Can’t bail out Portsmouth ‘cos I’m a Saints supporter – Go Em! (arch enemy of Pompey – just happen to live here) but feel sorry for them all the same, especially local creditors. Even YOU can’t get away with spelling “blimey” as “blimy” – jist saying
