2010 US Women's Open Third Round Begins at 2:35pm ET
The play is complete for the second round of the US Women's Open at Oakmont. The third round is set to begin at 2:35pm ET. Players will be in groups of three off of both one and ten tee, just as Mike Davis described after yesterday's foul weather suspended play for the day.
Curiously, the groups going off of ten will go off opposite conventional wisdom. The players in the middle of the pack, so to speak, will start at 2:35. Players barely making the cut will go off last. In fact, the last group will go off of 10 tee at 4:36pm ET, including defending champion Eun-Hee Ji.
Six amateurs made the cut. Kelli Shean is still low amateur at +7. Alexis Thompson, barely a pro herself, is T19.
The cut line was +10. Brittany Lincicome made the (rest of the) weekend with a birdie at the ninth to close her second round.
The leaders go off at 4:25pm, as Cristie Kerr, Paula Creamer, and Sakura Yokomine will be last off of one tee.

How about that swing from Yokomine ? She out Daly’s Daly with that wrap around. It’s a shame her short game doesn’t match up as well. (not to mention those ridiculous looking socks and the billboard shirt) The TV shot of the day was her near-wiff putch shot at the 3rd green. Her caddy saw it was coming up short and was waiting at the bottom of the hill for it to roll down.
What happened with Wiesy ? Didn’t the USGA get the memo to add another 50 players for the weekend so she could sell more tickets ? :-)
