Deja Vu Ace Leads to Euro Challenge Tour Victory
Consider yourself fortunate if you've ever had a hole-in-one. It's a great accomplishment - one I still haven't done. Never mind a guy like Mancil Davis that has about a bazillion aces, but it's a rather stunning statistical anomaly to have more than one ace in your life. Now, imagine having an ace on the same hole in the same tournament on the European Challenge Tour.
That's what Austrian Martin Wiegele did to win the Karnten Golf Open by Markus Brier Foundation. Wiegele shot 66 to win on the final day, which included a hole-in-one on the par 3 eighth hole. The coincidence? Wiegele aced the same hole in the final round last year.
Well, the guy won a car for his garage - again - and took home a trophy that may well charge him to the European Tour next season. And to think that you'll have to buy a round of drinks when you dunk one, but no car or hardware for you.
