Seve Will Miss St. Andrews Exhibition
When Seve Ballesteros said that he intended to play in the Champions Exhibition at St. Andrews next month in honor of the 150th anniversary of the British Open, it was seen as a sign that the Spaniard's recovery from cancer was going very well. That optimism faded to a degree today when he announced that he will be foregoing that appearance on the advice of his medical team.
"I am aware that there might be people who have been preparing their trip to encourage and cheer me up. I do not want to disappoint anyone at the last minute and after listening to the doctors I have taken the difficult decision not to travel to St Andrews," he said on his website.
Dr. Belda, Ballesteros' oncologist at La Paz Hospital in Madrid said, "[D]espite the excellent general state that Mr. Ballesteros enjoys, we do not think the trip to Scotland, this coming July, would be appropriate."

I'm gutted
Seve so badly wanted to say goodbye to his greatest fans at the home of golf. It would have been a wonderful thing to see him wave on the Swilken Bridge. Seve, we all love you. All the best.
The story istelf sounds rather positive about his condition.
Am I being naive?
I'm not sure that I ever expected him to play
in the Champions Exhibition, but I did hope he would be able to travel over anyway.
Hoping for the best all the same.
Wendy are ya sayin that
