I Love You, Sophie Gustafson (But Not As Much As My Wife)

PrintSophie Gustafson is the chick that wears the Red Sox cap every week out on the LPGA Tour. She used to be married to former LPGA Tour commissioner Ty Votaw, who is now very prominent at the PGA Tour. (Commissioner in waiting, me thinks.) Thanks to the folks behind the Evian Masters on the LPGA Tour, I think I can see what attracted them in the first place.
Gustafson's short interview is pretty revealing as far as these things go. There's a whole bunch of stuff about achievements, yada, yada, but there's also a couple of fun questions in there, too.
First, Gustafson says that the LET is way more fun than the LPGA Tour. Based on the response from even American players that I know who have straddled both tours, that is absolutely true. The LET is more like a mini-tour here in that regard. The players travel together, they hang out (late) together, and it's much more of a good time atmosphere than the more stuffy US tour. (You'd be stuffy, too, if you were playing for that big of a difference in cash.)
Ok, that's cool and all. She likes fun. But, she also loves curse words. Asked her favorite word or expression, the Swede answered, "Fuck it." And because I'm still 12 and cuss words are funny, she's awesome.
And she likes The Boss, which would really made the guy who runs my trivia league enamored with her.

I think Sophie wears the hat of the closest major league team to the tournament site. MLB is her sponsor. F-bombs are great adjectives when not directed at a person.

f bomb, couldn’t speak….I don’t care if theiy are directed at someone or not, a potty mouth is a potty mouth no matter how ya paint it….Sorry D…I know I’m old fashioned, but the best of the stand up comics were funny without having to resort to that crutch……STUB

trash is trash, garbage is garbage……no matter how you try to dress it up. I decided in the seventh grade that if I wasn’t smart enough to communicate without using foul language, then I needed to keep my mouth shut. I am amazed at the ease these filthy words are used today…..and we wonder why our society is in the dump.

I agree with both of ya. Cursing's a curse. Not exactly a skill.
I hate it when Jon Stewart relies on cursing to get cheap, fake laughs. Pathetic.
