And Who Are You? Matthew Richardson?

Matthew Richardson has started the 2010 US Open on fire.  Kicking off his championship on the tougher back nine at Pebble, he has birdied two of the first three holes, including the par-3 12th.  Before he drops off of the face of the earth, let's take the opportunity to get to know this guy a bit.

Richardson was on the Nationwide Tour in 2009.  In 13 events, his best finish was third.  Beyond that, a tie for 25th was his best.  He made just four cuts all year. 

This year, he moved to the Canadian Tour - well, more like he was evicted.  He nearly missed getting onto that Tour, having missed the cut in the Florida version of Q-school they have.  Given a second change again in California, he made the Tour.  In two events on the Can Tour, he has missed the cut in both.

To get into the Open, he beat 45 players - mostly Can Tour guys - to get one of the three spots in Portland sectional.
