Paula Creamer Is A Philly Phanatic & Practiced Phrenquently With Them

This week in Atlantic City marks Paula Creamer's return to the LPGA Tour in the ShopRite Classic.  Atlantic City is the site of her near miss as an amateur in 2003, when she nearly beat Cristie Kerr for the title that year.  Coming back this week from a wrist injury that has kept her out almost all of the 2010 season to date, she talked about what she did to recuperate in Florida.

"I hit balls with the Phillies where they do their spring training. I went to them, and they helped me out with braces."

What?  Tell me more - I'd care to subscribe to your newsletter.

"[T]he trainer that I work out with knows the Phillies ... I went out there and worked with them. They actually work with a lot of thumb issues with catchers and things like that. I went out in Tampa, and they made up a couple molds for my hands.

"I hit some balls actually out on the field, which was pretty cool. They guys were watching me take divots and running over there and putting sand in right away. I was like, 'Sorry, have to take a divot.'... It was quite an experience. It was the first time they said anybody's ever hit a golf ball off their field, and it was pink balls, too so that was cool."

And to think that I used to get kicked out of public parts for hitting wedges on baseball fields.  I guess all it takes is some good looks, a connection to a major league trainer, and Ryan Howard being in touch with his feminine side to be able to play golf on a ball field.

What ? What’s this ? Paula Creamer has a moldy hand and straight teeth ? :-D

I can imagine the grounds keeper gasping when Creamer took a divot on his grass. That’s hilarious.

Let’s hope she’s back and healthy.

The moniker

makes sense on another SB nation site. At any rate, the next 5 posts were on the US Open, so I apologize and rest my case.

“I rest my case” – doesn’t mean “I was wrong and give up” – it means “I have made my case and stand by it”. “The Moniker makes sense on another SB Nation Site” makes no sense at all. I was just wondering what the heck he was talking about.
