Jiyai Shin Is New #1 in Women's Golf
On the heels of her win at the JLPGA's CyberAgent Ladies tournament, Jiyai Shin has assumed the world number one ranking from the now retired Lorena Ochoa. Despite winning the LPGA Tour's Tres Marias Championship for her third win of the year, Japan's Ai Miyazato is in third in the rankings - second without Ochoa.
Here are the latest Rolex Rankings:
Jiyai Shin 9.29
Lorena Ochoa 9.2
Ai Miyazato 9.11
With Ochoa out of the picture and a mere 0.18 average points separating Shin and Miyazato, the LPGA Tour is likely to see quite a race for the number one ranking. If Shin is not able to piece together victories to keep up with Miyazato's torrid pace in 2010, though, the Player of the Year award could fall out of Shin's grasp. The LPGA Tour season really does not kick up until June, though, so Shin has plenty of time.

Why Easy...
I know that the rankings are based on past earnings, but with Mi-sama having won 3 times already in 1K10…where is the logic for Shin?….I think we all vote for Rory’s girl friend….everyone in agreement raise their left hand…I say left, cause all the rights are holding the glasses….I think it was the poet Byrnes who said…." a house without a woman is oft times lonely, but a house without proper whiskey is cruel indeed"…I think it was Jumpin who said, and I could be wrong, Women are like buses.. If ya miss one, wait a couple of minute, and another will come along….jist sayin mind ya….STUB
Shin has been consistant over the last 2 years..
Maybe I’m using the men’s rankings here, play over the last 2 years. In any case, it’ll soon settle down.
