Nothing Like A Charity Golf Outing to Reform Big Ben's Image
Ben Roethlisberger has been taking a beating in public lately. From allegations of sexual misconduct to a lousy haircut to a six game suspension by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to totally unflattering SI & E:60 pieces, his reputation has been damaged severely.
With being unable to practice with his teammates and no chance of him ever showing up anywhere near college chicks (Ben, Facebook. Really, Facebook.), what's a man to do? Play a charity golf tournament.
That's just what Ben did on Monday at Hines Ward, Max Starks, and Merill "Factorback" Hoge's annual charity golf outing. It is supposedly his first public appearance since the undressing (he got a haircut for it, too) in the NFL offices in NYC.
As someone who plays in plenty of these things, it is typically a combination of free booze and schwag that make these things fun. And playing in the rain that they saw yesterday, they needed it. Then again, most people wouldn't play golf in the rain for any reason other than to support a cause that matters to them.
Arnold Palmer was not there to demand he sign autographs.

The haircut was for the court appearances – but I sure hope reality if finally sinking in with this guy. It would be a real shame to see him continue to screw up and end up following in Michael Vick’s shoes…a much slower, but more accurate pair of shoes, to be sure. :-)
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Ben will do everything right the next few months
but I doubt he will change once he has football success again and time goes on
