Playboy Understands What Golf Really is All About

What does Playboy have to do with golf?  Absolutely nothing.  (Forty years ago, someone named Edwin Starr asked a much more poignant question with that answer, but I digress.)  Regardless, Playboy puts on a series of golf tournaments around the country every year.  They stock the tournaments with beer and hot chicks in short skirts that flaunt their ladygoods - kind of like Homegoods - for all of the older men to ogle and objectify.  Sounds like a good time to me.

In truth, like every good golf scramble, the golf is totally secondary to getting drunk with your friends.  At Playboy Golf events, that's true, but there is the added bonus of young ladies in short skirts making a human pyramid.

And being photographed - from the front and behind.

So, Playboy sponsors some hit-and-giggle golf with some eye candy for the fellows?

I don’t see a problem here. Everyone — the golfers, the young ladies, everyone — knows what they are getting into and are there because they want to be.

Hooters does the same thing all over the country on a regular basis – either hosting or as a corporate sponsor for someone else.

if things had gone differently 30 years ago...

I could be doing that.

When Hooters was starting to expand, they ran franchise meetings. We were on a family trip to Jacksonville and an uncle asked my dad if he wanted to go see what it was all about. He said no – nothing would ever come of it.

Ooops.
