Meet Your 2010 Waggle Room Futures Tour Correspondent: Stephanie Connelly!
Hi everyone,
This is your soon-to-be favorite little golfer - Stephanie Connelly from Pasadena, MD! I am very excited for this season, and to let y'all see what it’s like from my side of the ropes.
First, I’ll let you know a little bit about me and where I’m playing. I just finished college at UCF (the University of Central Florida) last May and turned professional right after the NCAAChampionship, which was held at Caves Valley Golf Club in MD! It was so great to finish my college career at home.
As a professional, I began playing on the Futures Tour in June 2009 for the second half of the season. I went through qualifying school for the LPGA and Futures Tours in the fall and earned fully exempt status on the Futures Tour. My goal is to earn my LPGA card through my play this year.
Now to the fun stuff...
I am very sarcastic, generous, fun, and honest to a fault. I joined a sorority while in college and loved every second of it. I’m an only child (but not the bratty princess type) and daddy’s little girl. I have been fishing and swimming since I was two and still love both today. I love the Orioles, Capitals, crabcakes, boats, snowballs, summer, golf, and - most importantly - my friends and family. I like to have a good time. I work hard and probably play too hard, but "you can't take life too serious, you’ll never get out alive." (It's a quote from a movie I like.) You will hardly ever see me without sunglasses, Sperrys (pretty sure they should sponsor me), pearls, a coozie, or something Vera Bradley (they could sponsor me, too, or make a golf bag!). I love all kinds of music - country, my parents' favorite rock bands, and a few of my friends even get me into a little rap/gangsta stuff. I have a motorcycle. I am very random and overuse punctuation marks... :P
If anyone has specific questions or ideas of topics for me to write about feel free to comment!
Thanks!
Stephanie

So RB's a homer...who didn't know that ? :-)
What ? No “walks on the beach, romantic dinners, children, and puppies” ? :-)
Welcome, Steph ! This is going to be a fun series of posts to follow…and we’ll all be hoping it’s a one season gig for you.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Welcome Stephanie
Good luck in your pursuit of full time status
As you can always expect come from behind victory is when you least expect it.

Hey Lady,

You seem to be a very nice young lady in addition to being attractive, so let me give you some “fatherly advise” right up front….Never, and I mean never invite this crowd to give you comments or suggestions…Most, not all mind you would cripple their grandmothers to get the last pork chop…Post what’s happening on tour, but this crowd will turn on ya in a minute…lol j/k..And no, we won’t hold it against ya that ya come from MD…good luck young lady…we got yur back….STUB
Trust your instincts, Stephanie. And, you
know you can trust anyone from Baltimore (Catonsville). Where do you play in Pasadena? Have you played Rolling Road Golf Club? Let me know if you ever would like to.
I'll keep an eye out for you...at www.oneeyedgolfer.blogspot.com

Welcome Aboard Steph
Remember, Never ground your club in a next to a water hazard and never wear a white skirt cause the officials won’t let you use that for an excuse. Good luck on tour.
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Your welcome, Steph.
I suppose this is a good time as any…what do you think about the ladies game becoming a “world tour” organisation, bearing in mind it seems to be heading that way ?
I am sure that the “world tour” issue will be a topic I write about soon. I’ll start gathering my thoughts for that one.
I play at 120 tomorrow :)

Gawd
its early, the words ( in and a ) don’t belong in the first sentence. grrrrrrrrrrrrr
"pain is only weakness leaving the body"
Save those words, PG, odds are you'll need them
for your next comment.
Great left jabs there
TX…gonna finish um off with a right cross?….STUB
You must have tons of energy...
…competing on the futures tour AND blogging. I barely manage the later. I look forward to reading about life on the tour and I wish you the best in pursuit of your LPGA dreams.
May see you when the tour comes up to CT. :o)
Hey Golf...do they really
play golf in CT.?? heck, they only have 2 maybe 3 days of summer….STUB
thinker, either I am very dumb, incredibly
naive, somewhat forgetful or all of the above – but, what does STUB stand for? I do know LOL, LMAO, SOB, etc. Please don’t tell me your name is Steven Thomas Urban Brooks, or something like that. I’ll really be embarrassed. Thanks…

One Eye...Hmmmm!!!!
What do you think it stands for??? several different scenarios available ….take your pick….STUB
EASY....there ya go
“thinking again”…lol….how’s the game?….You know, when I play, I don’t carry my bag… I say, if she can’t walk let her lay where she fell…..I got a million of um…..As Henny Youngman used to say…..Take my wife……PLEASE!!! yuk,yuk,yuk…..STUB
lol...thinking? I try, with what brain cells I have left
The game is progressing, but the old faults never go away…I just have to manage them better. The swing got a bit quick during my St Georges trek…but I’m on to it…If I can work a bit less in the coming months, I expect to come down 2 shots at least.
ATTA BOY,,,never say never...
and remember, don’t carry yur bag, just let her lay where she falls…lol….it’s the short game, pitching, chipping and putting that will drop the handicap the fastest….When the swing gets a little quick, Byron Nelson and Sam Snead always think in WALTZ time.. STUB
I used to sing that song by Nat King Cole when I was playing well..
“Let there be love” kept me going easy…i think I’ll start again on that one. As for the short game, yes, you are so right. I’m chipping and putting every week now, it finally sunk in my thick skull.
