Urban Meyer Will Take Your UF and Masters Press Badge, Thank You
Hey! Remember how supposedly fatigued University of Florida head football coach Urban Meyer absolutely lashed out at an Orlando Sentinel reporter that dared to quotes from Meyer's own players to write about and discuss the idea that Florida may be better without quarterback St. Tim Tebow? And how Meyer threatened to pull the reporter's credentials?
Meyer's quite the hypocrite about not being a fan of the media. At the Masters, he showed he's an awfully big fan of where the media gets to sit. Garry Smits reports that Meyer and his family went to sit in an area at Amen Corner designated specifically for working media and was allowed to by some security guard that probably got big timed. next thing you know, Meyer will want the media buffet, too.
It should have been more confrontational than that, really. I mean, Urban Meyer has no power at the Masters. You practically have to pass through Athens (home of UGA) to get to Augusta. The guy should have been ridiculed into submission.

is there a job open at The National Enquirer we don't know about ?
good god – it’s assumption Monday….you have no proof of “big timing” a security guard…

You don’t get into media areas that aren’t for you without money or big timing. Bottom line.

Hmm – Urban Meyer – an SEC football coach with two national championship rings on his hand. He’s not the field hockey coach at a junior college.
Did it occur to you that he was invited into the area to get a little breather ? OR – here’s a shocking possibility – he was invited in by a member of the media who knows who he is and was having a conversation with him ?
Of course not – it HAD to be Urban Meyer throwing his weight around – making demands of people left and right.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
Yes, it did have to be. No member of the media would have violated the rules at the Masters or among his/her own brethren, I can assure you.

lol – you’re cracking me up. since you got that GWAA card, you’ve changed – WAGS are no longer the unusual. there is one way it can happen – and it is always the wildest and most negative.
You go to one practice round and all of a sudden you’re making all of these claims.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
It’s pretty easy to learn about how it works by just having a simple conversation.
And I think you’re making some hyperbolic observations yourself about how I write, especially since almost everything that I’ve done this week had almost none of what you just accused me of, right?

Ok – who was your conversation with in that media box who told you that Meyer forced his way in ?
MOST of what you have written about your trip and the tournament had to do with things you actually did, or things we all saw. Some things today have not been like that.

Not everything has to be verified by a third party, right? I mean, the stories that I report that are about the industry are trusted, right? Why the difference now?

give it up, Ryan
CG is in awe of anyone he deems to have more power than he does. Hero worship is his thing.
Placebos, of course, are things you have to swallow even though they contain nothing that actually helps you. It's like American health insurance in a pill. -BiPM
lol – this from the Clinton/Obama worshipper :-)
I asked legitimate questions. And in this case – yes – you have to have a third party since you only observed Meyer and his family in the media area, then jumped to your conclusions. You didn’t see how he got in there – and you didn’t ask anybody how he got in or why he was there.
"this ball will fit in that fairway"
To me, the opinion part of Ryan’s piece seems kind of bloggy. I really don’t see any problem with it, since this story has appeared in multiple spots. I saw it on The Big Lead Monday morning.
Even though Urban Meyer can get testy with the media, especially where Saint Tim Tebow is concerned, he still has friends there. He also has the name recognition to get special privileges not available to a typical fan patron. That should surprise no one.
Ask yourself, Ryan, would this have been a big deal had it been Clint Eastwood who was standing in that media area? Or admitted golf fan Elisha Dushku?
He is and always has been an absolute prick
and he will be out anyway in a few years due to health issues
