Think You're Good Enough to Be A Pro...Golf Writer? Here's Your Chance
There may be just about zero chance of you breaking 100 on a US Open-set up golf course. But Golf World is banking that there may be people out there who are great enough to write for their magazine. That's why they're introducing the Golf World Dream Assignment contest.
Golf World EIC Geoff Russell explains in this video.
The rules are simple: write an 800 word article covering a professional golf tournament in the month of April. Submit that article to Golf World and their esteemed panel will decide which submission is best. If you win, you get to cover the Open Championship at St. Andrew's for the magazine, and your work may be published by them.
How will you be judged by Bob Carney, Jimmy Roberts, Russell, and John Marvel?
"Quality of Writing (50%), Accuracy/Relevance as it relates to the event covered (25%), and Creativity/Originality (25%)"
It is basically every golf blogger's dream contest - presuming that what they're writing in public is better than what the average golf fan can muster for a one-time deal. For what it's worth, I won't be entering, so you can count me out as your competition (if you can call me that).
