Gigapan of TPC Scottsdale's 16th
The good folks at Golf Digest have put together this amazing, full-view photograph of the par 3 16th at TPC Scottdale. Using many cameras of all views and different depths, they have created a picture of the hole when Tom Lehman was playing that can be panned, zoomed, and see nearly every detail. Very cool technology.

Very cool – maybe they’ll start getting them up a little faster so we can see this during the tournament.

Agreed. They Could Do One Really Quickly...
with a Panoscan camera or another similar model.
These days, I do some high-res panos from time to time the old fashioned way — stitching together manual shots. I’ve gone as high as 2.4 GB, but it takes almost two days to properly finish putting the pics together. Instead, I tend towards smaller ones that go together in a minute or two — here’s a thumbnail of a ~50 Megapixel shot that I made a huge print of:

Wish I could justify a Panoscan, though…
cool picture !
Talk about a blind tee shot to a tough green…can you get a ball to stop on that deck ? :-)
