TPC Sawgrass Marriott Files for Bankruptcy, Tiger Last Large Event
TPC Sawgrass Marriott, which hosted hundreds of media assembled to hear Tiger Woods' 2/19 remarks from about a mile away, has filed for bankruptcy protection. The AP reported on the filing today.
Speaking with resort spokesman Jason Heath, he confirmed that the filing was on 3/1. When asked what the last "major event" that that the facility hosted, Heath said hosting the media for Woods' remarks "would have probably been the last of that scale [before the filing.]"
Heath says that large groups of the size of the horde of media - approximately 300 people - are not uncommon for the resort, but that they are mostly private organizations as opposed to public events.

DANG ! I know how media guys can be a ruthless bunch of leaches – but what in the world did they do to that hotel to drive it into bankruptcy ? :-)
Seriously – sending hundreds of people to a closed event…talk about a waste of money.

Not really
A newsworthy item. Companies and Hotel Chains file for chapter 11 bankruptcy all the time. Marriot is a multi-billion dollar corporation with both corporate and franchise ownerships. This one chapter 11 in lil ole Ponte Vedra Beach doesn’t effect the bottom line of the company one bit. They have a nice lounge too. { :o)

I was in Chicago, however my g/f and 3 other member wives were perched high on the upper verandah at the Sawgrass Clubhouse watching all the sheep roaming around below.

Groaner alert: If Court's faux Cheerios,
that means Diane’s against Cheerios.
My apologies.
I prefer the
Faux " Fruit Loops " instead, but you need to open up about 10 of those tiny buffet size boxes to make up a full bowl.

Wow, after that string of comments I’m going to need to see the doctor…after that many eye rolls, I’m dizzy!! (Fruit Loops for caddies is my fave so far!)
I write about golf at www.tees2greens.com, too.
OOOOOOOOO'H
It;s a Faux buffet as I suspected. The kind that you have to take your muffin back to your room to warm it up with a hairdryer
