PrintOn Friday in the second round of the CA Championship, Ian Poulter's adoring fans lined the 10th tee all donning pants like their hero.
It seems like men go out of their way to show their support for the Englishman. This time, it's a group of ten guys paying $90 a pop to get some Poulter Power Pants. Last year in the final round of the Players Championship, several pre-pubescent kids spelled out Poulter's initials with body paint.
Poulter clearly is the English Happy Gilmore. Perhaps his fans will fornicate in the woods, too. I sure hope he doesn't beat up Bob Barker, though.

Have an old Pringle pair
from 20 years ago. Faldo used to wear trousers just as loud as Poulter. Didn’t wear pink trousers, but Seve and norman did. Like you said, it’s been done before.
If you remember, Bob Barker
kicked Happy’s ass. I could always tell on TV that Barker was one bad dude.

I think it's a stretch to call him the English Happy Gilmore
Although among popular English golfers, he certainly has the most flair and personality. I just think that if Happy were to read your comparison, he’d object. Poulter is a modern day metrosexual. And that, my friend, goes against all that is and was Happy Gilmore.
For my money, golf’s Happy Gilmore is John Daly.

Personally, I like Poulter’s style. He wears it well. My old man used to have a saying that,… “golf was the only sport where you could dress like an African American,(chill out all you PC junkies) and nobody would notice”. If I could find a pair of Poulter’s drawers that fit me,….HELL yah, I’d wear’em. ! EZ,…I’m 34″ × 37″,….see what you can do amigo. The purple ones if you please, lol. JJ,..did ya make it back yet ?……………………………….Z.

you can dress the way you like if you play as good as Poulter does. Reminds me so much of Doug Sanders.

EZ,….I started bicyclin’, to get in better shape, and dropped 4" off my waist and am down to 228 lbs,….nearly back to “fightin” weight ! LOL So, some new duds are in order and I really would wear Poulter’s gear on the course. I like the look, and the missus is hot about it too. Or maybe she’s just hot for Ian :-), hmmmmm. LOL. It’s not easy finding IJP clothing over here, but I am definitely gonna acquire a few pieces of it.
