Golf Channel Re-Inks Analysts & Champ Tour Heads North
A couple of news releases came across my inbox in the last two days that I wanted to pass along.
One, Brandel Chamblee and Frank Nobilo signed contract extensions with Golf Channel through 2014. Say what you will about anyone at Golf Channel (since I know you will), but I think these two guys are among the best in the biz when it comes to analysis.
Second, the Champions Tour has announced another new event for 2010. It's the Montreal Championship in French Canadia. The tournament will be a $1.8 million purse, played in July, and the tournament will be a recipient of CAN$2.3 million in funding to promote the event.

All the news that's fit to print.
I like Nobilo and Chamblee as well. I think we often forget it’s not all about TV ratings. Bringing an event to town is always good for the local economy. As I recall Dave Barr played a few then Senuor Tour events years ago…I can’t remember hearing anything about him for some time. I think Richard Zokol is over 50 now…I seem to remember he’s gone into the design business.

Glad to hear they’ve kept two of their smart analysts.
Now if they would send Lerner to golf history class and … well, you know the rest of the rant.

i don’t always like Chamblee, which is a compliment; because it means he’s willing to say exactly what he feels. I agree sometimes, but sometimes i don’t, but i always respect his opinions. It took me awhile to get there, but I consider him the best TGC has to offer. Nobilo is too nice for my taste.

more power to 'em
Still like Nobs even though he tends to ramble from time to time
Used to like Chamblee until he was put in the #2 chair and thought he had to be Johnny Miller Lite with constant criticism of the players…like they intended to hit the ball where it ended up.

CG,
I think Franks rambling has something to do with his English background…Ever notice Wendy and Easing?? LOL LOL…as for Chamblee, I kind of like his stirring the pot once in a while…get away from that blandness we have been fed…I think along with these two, we need the OL BIKINI WAX man as moderator…STUB

lol – he’s from New Zealand. Now if you had said that it had to do with the down under traditions of tipping the pints… :-D
what “blandness” ? I thought you said that you prefer the Euro Tour broadcast guys over the US Tour broadcasts.

When it
was known as the SENIORS TOUR, there were 2 events played in Canada…Haven’t followed it lately, are there no others?…and because it’s in FRENCH Canada, are they going to have to do interviews in French?…STUB
