Hoorah for an Absurd & Made Up Golf-Related Guinness World Record!
I found out today through press release that some guy in Barbados set a Guinness World Record! What is it? Making 40 birdies in 12 hours. His name is Alexander Sandeman, a nomad pro golfer who apparently lives in Barbados.
The best part about him setting the record? It didn't even exist until he did.
He contacted the Guinness folks - who will certify literally ANY record - and 40 birdies in twelve hours is the new standard.
The stunt reminded me of a great bit by Daily Show contributor John Oliver about how Americans just love creating and then setting random world records. Though this guy lives in Barbados, I still think the video applies.

The Super Bowl points spread is diminishing, Em.
Your odds are improving. I just hope you have a credible alibi re the time of Feeney’s injury.

You misinterpreted this time, Wendy.
Em was joking that he hired Guido to injure the Colts player, not me. Or perhaps Guido’s ambidextrous.
